V8 brutes
Will AVESCO try to entice the Brutes competitors onto the V8Supercar support card,...now that the wheels have fallen of the PROCAR machine ???

I think they would be crazy not to entice them. At least on the Konica bill with a few races with the main game circus.

I'm sure they will. Phone calls have probably already taken place.

I remember reading in AA (i think) a while ago that TC asked if the Brutes could run at a V8S meeting & was told in no uncertain terms that he could not have Ross's utes.
So that should answer some questions. |

I'm no legal expert, but just because PROCAR doesn't exist doesn't mean AVESCO can swoop on the Brutes, especially as it was PROCAR themselves that owned the rights to it.

PROCAR still owns the Brute rights, but as part of the winding-up process the rights will probably be sold to someone else. That someone colud be another Palmer company who could then run the races at someone else's meeting (like Aussie Racing Cars)

Yes the intelectual rights to Brute Utes should and probably will be for sale ....I really wish my cheque book was a little fuller so as to acquire this for myself and not let it fall into the wrong hands..
Lets hope that the right thing is done with this category |

Well, I hope they go somewhere....they were probably the best catagory PROCAR had, so they don't deserve to be pulled down with the sinking ship!
The trouble with this news is, not only is it bad, but NO-ONE knows what happens now....do the series involved continue their calender for the rest of the year...stop right now....continue a limited selection of events....what? |

Are these catagories considered an asset of the company known as procar and if so can they be sold to the highest bidder.

Depends on the contractual situation with CAMS, PROCAR may still hold the rights but be obligated to fulfil them....

There was a similar issue with OWRS and CARTS Assets and ACUS.

Just got of the telling bone with a brute owner, seems that there have been a number of hasty phone conversations in the last two days about where they will run and the possibility of a series with the brutes as the main event.

The only problem is that Ross Palmer owns the ute category and they can only race where Ross lets them. I would suggest that they will still be still part of the PROCAR Champ Series as will all other categories that are in the series.

Depends who gets the shaft to accomodate these 'newly loved' categories I think...
If I were Mr P.Ward or Mr P.Pickett, I may indeed be piddling myself right about now.... |

I think Mr Ward will survive but the other not so sure about, his catagories get strung out like bad spaghetti.

Would piddling be the right term, GTR. One would think that a more solid originating liquid would be the likely case?

I should think a solid entry of saloon cars would be quite safe Although would be making inquiries of the ARDC race office each day, just to make sure
