Redracer77 should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
FF1600 feature in Track and Race Car Magazine

Keep your eyes out for the next edition of "Track and Race Cars" it will be featuring 12 pages dedicated FF1600 racing.

http://www.trcmagazine.com/

There will be a 6 page article on Historic FF1600, plus another 6 page feature on the difference between the old style FF1600 (RF90/SC93) and the new Kent Converted Zetec

The later article will feature my good self, David Bailey and Gavin Wills.

Should make interesting reading building up to the Festival.

If anyone else has an RF90/91, Swift SC93 or a converted Zetec and they would be interested in the test at Bruntingthorpe for the magazine article on Monday 18th September then could they PM me -

You never know what could happen at Oulton Park and we may need other cars!!

In the Dec. issue, the 'lap' times are listed:
RF00 - 1m17.67
FR90 - 1m21.01
SC93 - 1m22.41

Ouch!

That was because Justin was **** around that place! he needed a few test sessions to get on the pace of Wills!
I'm sure he has some excuse though!

Ouch!
It didn't help the fact that I was running Oulton gearing so was having to lift big time down the 1 mile long runway,to avoid putting Mr Bold's valves into orbit

plus as I recall Justin tried a demon ratio change as he had a similar problem and then only managed a couple of laps when he ran out of fuel

so, ignoring the top speed trace on the graph the rest of it makes an interesting comparison, but then again I would say that wouldn't I

also it doesn't help when you try and destroy a cone at 100 mph+ (damaged nose box, front lower wishbone and radiator plinth to prove it)

Don't forget when you dropped your helmet too...

IIRC, The RF00 and the RF01 also had short gears in and were on the limiter shortly after getting on to the straight.

how come the graph in the article shows Gavin as pulling 125 mph then? and for some quite considerable time.

If those are short gears, God's knows how fast he would have gone had he got a tall top in!!!!!

All right, Mallory gears are longer than Oulton.

JD had Mallory too (although he'll doubtless now claim he had Silverstone Stowe) and then he fitted his Thruxton/Spa/M25 specials.

In fact, reading the article, I can't remember the author driving the cars which he says he did - although I did leave at 4.20 pm.
