steve nielsen should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid

on several f1 sites Jos Verstappen is said to have signed a 2 year deal with Sauber, it seems his good friend MS, known here also as TGF, has helped him in negotiations with Sauber and Ferrari, very interesting, could this be true or is it just (red) bull ???

These rumors concerning Jos Verstappen can be found at several Formula One sites, one of them being our associate partner site http://f1rumors.net

Here's what they say:
Something of a surprise to all, bar Jos Verstappen's fan base, is the rumour that he has landed a two year deal with Sauber.

Silly Season speculation has implied at least one seat at Arrows would become available at the end of the year -- and with Pedro de la Rosa strongly targeted by Tom Walkinshaw to be retained for 2001, it implied Verstappen would be looking for a new ride next year.

There are two rumours concerning the Dutchman: first, that he is not keen to remain at Arrows, who he believes face a tough couple of years as AMT get their act together; and second, that he has managed to find the role at Sauber, who are anticipating the loss of at least one driver.

According to speculation, Jos owes his good fortune to Michael Schumacher, who excerted his influence at Sauber to place his friend (and ex number two from Benetton) there; it would make sense, as the Ferrari man is interested in Michelins performance next year, and some driver to driver feedback could go a long way towards his won challenge in 2001.

Personally, I don't know what to think about this.
It has all the characteristics of exactly what it is, a rumor.
However, what I do know is that the rumor comes from someone in Hinwil, Switzerland, which is exactly where Sauber is situated.
Only time will tell.

That is what I heard about six weeks ago when I started hearing that Zonta was signing with Arrows.

Jos is right to be concerned - Arrows' current run of speed is about to come to an abrupt halt, no doubt with smoke billowing out from behind it. AMT = Peugeot = ****.

Well, how many people still believe that Jim Morrison and Hitler are alive? Some people will believe anything they see in print.

Kind of makes you want to start some rumours, doesn't it?

This from Planet F1:

In a shock announcement which has amazed everyone in the world of Formula One, Mercedes have announced they are to supply Minardi with works engines from 2001. The new deal, they say, will enable Minardi to become the great team they have always shown the potential to be.

More information forthcoming.

From a Reliable Source:

Eddie Irvine's salary at Jaguar is being paid by Ferrari in order to prevent him from writing a tell-all book about his time at Ferrari.

Mika Salo is working on a similar deal; however all proceeds from his deal will have to be paid to BAR in compensation for telling Ferrari all of BAR's secrets. And I don't mean the secrets about the cars ...

The Plastic McLaren Loonie has apologized to McLaren for ruining their F1 race. "I was supposed to be at the CART race ruining PacWest's race," he said. "All those pointy nosed cars look alike to me."

Jos Verstappen announced this morning that he has bought an IRL team. After paying Eddie Irvine's large finders fee for brokering the deal, he was dismayed to find out that this series does not in fact race in Ireland.

Yvan Muller announced this evening that he had bought an IRL team from Jos Verstappen and is looking forward to bringing a higher level of racing to Iceland.

Heinz Harald Frenzen has announced that he has changed his last name to Federation. "It just sounds so corporate," he explained. He has already had several inquiries from car manufacturers wanting to register for his series.

Ron Dennis has offered a reward for the apprehension of the bandits who sneaked into Team Mika and replaced the "W" on their cigarette advertising sponsor's name with the letter "P". The reward is rumoured to be a set of bogus measuring devices and a duplicate set of keys to the Ferrari garage.

DC has promised amnesty to Minardi Fan if he will bring back McLaren's helicopter. When last heard from, Minardi Fan was circling Earl Scheib's Helicopter Repainting Shop.

Bernie Ecclestone has not been heard from in nearly half an hour. He was last seen in the company of Jean Alesi.

Max says that rumours of a UFO landing behind the Prost Paddock are unfounded.
