Hopefully they can have different wing mirror colors to really get us going.

But that's a big part of the reason why there is so much interest. It's nice to have something positive to moan about once in a while |

I think getting 20 in the top class is a nice idea, but we probably won't have quite that many. Middle teens would probably be more realistic and it will be a nice improvement after having single digit entries the past 2 or 3 years

Is there any further discussion about the speed of the LMDh and Hypercar class vs LMP2? No further talks about increasing their speed in some way?

Nothing public that I know of but you can rest assured that the next gen P2s will be significantly slower. There is a lot of space between LMH/LMDh and GT3 pace.

That’s a bit sad to hear, so they are going to slow down LMP2 rather than speed up Hypercar? I guess that’s the “cheaper option” in terms of field balance, however surely there is some headroom to play with in terms of making the top class a little faster?

Obviously they want to keep speeds in check, but I don’t think they should have slowed LMP2. Obviously I can understand it on cost grounds, but it won’t be great long term if you ask me.

Those mirrors certainly had a unique feel to them. Although the CLK GTR was a great looking car either way

Well based on the LMDh cars being LMP2+ in effect with hybrid and some further tweaks the LMP2s would be slower than those times. By how must who knows and I'm sure IMSA is in that meeting as well to keep a class gap there too. It seems like targeting the already slowed WEC spec pace would be their target based on current WEC racing. I think they are hesitant to push hypercar faster given the targets they set and the current designs

Would love to get your quick thoughts on a third Toyota eventually. They could be up against 7+ Porsches at Le Mans in '24. Not to mention everyone else. Surely going to need another bullet. Everyone will! |

I think there's potential - but absolutely not a certainty

I was just about to ask whether there is any further news/ rumours about Hyundai - seeing as their WRC programme is running aground, after getting a late okay last year.

'Project24' hmmmm
Is this the other manufacturer we have heard lurking in the shadows? And with a Valkyrie-style road car based Hypercar too. Not sure about that power to weight ratio though. https://www.dailysportscar.com/2022/...only-mc20.html |

2024 WEC programme confirmed for BMW. Awesome news - https://www.dailysportscar.com/2022/...-for-2024.html
I'm not convinced it will be the most competitive of LMDh's but it certainly looks the best! |

Forgive my ignorance. Is this a factory team or factory backed and Team RMG run the car?
