Driver TBA should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Super drive by Whincup, but I really hope HRT can find some demon tweaks for Will's car tomorrow.

How good was Courtney on the sprint tyres. Also special mention to Johnson, 3 in the shootout and then 10th in the race without touching a sprint tyre.

I lol'd. Was it a wheel failure, of tyres?

Quote:
The wheel came loose and cut in half which deflated one of the front tyres of Reynold’s Commodore.
The team had gambled by attempting to run the entire race on the Sprint Maxx tyre but fell just short.

IMO Jaime & 888 have been in the same boat once or twice this year, both are protected.

I was at the track and it appeared that the only had the sprint tyres on the rear. The fronts were not painted yellow. It was a great tactic and he was driving very well.

if this was the case wouldn't he recieve a penalty as IIRC they have to have all 4 sprints on at once?????

What pro said, have to have all 4 on at the same time.

Sometimes the yellow stripe isn't as obvious as other tyres, either crap paint, or due to hitting another car

peckstar has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
no only if Will has a DNF.

on the other hand if Will wins tomorrow and Jamie is a DNF then Jamie will still be leading.

I would doubt Will can win (nor Jamie) today as they have used the best of there Sprint tyres.

Garth on the other hand should start favorite today

But did not the Black Wiggle say the the title will go down and be won at the Sydney 500. Bet he is hoping that Jamie does not win today in WA

Maybe the #1 car will cop a mysterious and inconsistent penalty to bring some more excitement to the Sydney 500 Party, not like it hasn't happened before in the west a few years back..

Might make today's race a interesting race, well the 1st one of the year, instead of the norm follow the leader races

What, the Sprint tyre guaranteed different winner format isn't exciting for you?

If Qualifying goes to Plan i expect the #2, #25 & #17 to Battle for the win.

Great race by Jamie, it seems he's steadied the ship and is pulling away from Will.

However using his sprint tyres up completely and winning by 12 seconds seems like a bit of a bad strategy to me? Personally I would have pitted a few laps after Will did. What do you guys think?

The 888 car seems to be very good on its tyres everywhere it lands... whether it plays out that way in R2 will be interesting to see.

Mr Reynolds made it almost the whole way yesterday on the sprint tyres... until the wheel broke...

I wonder what Mr Tander thought, after one of the Carrati brothers (Aaron, IIRC) did the very same thing to his Good Lady wife, as he did to Whincup.

Difference was, Mrs Tander ended up HARD into the pit lane inside wall, trashing the car & ending her race.

I wonder if Garth chose to visit the Mini Race Stewards, to complain about the dangerous, unsportsman like driving, that saw Leanne take a trip to the Medical Centre.....?
