Probably 28 more than at at Silverstone today. Most of the stands were empty.
Bad luck about the car Rod.

Not too many more at Donington. Mind you, 28 seems to be roughly on a par with the combined entry at Rockingham which from the looks of MST must be a terrible meeting I'm afraid.

I was at the Rockingham meeting, only because it was on the doorstep and I don't like spectating at silverstone, what a B****y farce that was!! 2 races had only 6 competitors and only one had more than 12. To cap it off Rockingham charged £12 for entry, no wonder the spectators are staying away from British Club Motorsport.

The BARC want shooting for running the event yesterday, the competitors must have been "hacked" off at having little to do but tour round in a glorified test session.

On the strength of what I saw at rockingham I would advise all you spectators out there to stay well away from the BARC/Classic races this season as it has little to offer other than severe boredom.

Same old chestnut really....."too many Championships (164) and not enough competitors".......Rockingham was a sad reflection of this and a perfect example of why all of the clubs have got to band together to seriously rationalise the number of classes to (I would suggest)less than 100 and stop thinking of themselves.

The MSA need a toe up the ass too, in order to make it happen next year without fail.

Thank god for Autograss racing and a decent club/national bike racing scene so that at least I will have some enjoyment out of motorsport this year.

Spot on PTs Bro, may I also suggest a forthcoming event at Northampton stadium featuring formula one and two stock cars. At the last count (March 1st) there were over 600 licenced F.2 drivers alone !!

Rockingham always seems to do badly for entries... why some of the races over the weekend weren't amalgamated where possible I'm really not sure.

I'm amazed that there were 27 Classic FF2000s out.

To be fair, the BARC usually run good race days with well stocked grids. I think this has more to do with people not wanting to go to Rockingham, or the fact that there were a lot of similar meetings elsewhere.

perhaps the clubs / organisers need to promote the events in the press more - both specialist and local.

It is remarkable that even when papers offer a free "what's on" listing, organisers can still not be bothered to let them know. One gets the feeling that they don't want people to know.

The big problem is most club don't see a penny of the gate money that goes to the circuits normally.Till this changes what insentive to clubs have to promote their events.I do thruxton on a regular basis, the home of BARC.This means they have an insentive to advitise there events as they get all the money and it works,Even small clubbies get as decent support because they make an effort to let people know what is going on via local paper and radio.Till other places adopt this idea I doubt things will change much.

Thanks Rod, I've already targetted the F1 & F2 stocks at Northampton and a couple of other stadiums too.....It appears that I am turning into a small ovals fan......As a dyed in the wool circuit racing "nut" I never thought that that would happen. Next thing you know I'll be drinking bacardi breezers and encouraging "ample" young ladies to "get them out for the boys" !!!!

Still I'll watch pretty well anything with wheels and an engine(except Drag Racing)or a wet T shirt, as long as there are plenty of entries and it's a spectacle.
