US regulations allowed more aerodynamics than Europe, hence the different bodywork.

My Lolat642e had a flip tail. WE ran it in monoposto 1600 so it was legal. It also had centre locking wheels and slicks. It was a very good car

Does anyone have details and pictures to share of the European version of the tail bodywork??

Back in 1985 (I think that was the year...) I bought a T642 from Touraco. It was on display (as a bare chassis only) when they opened their then-new workshop in Louth.

That was a deep yellow colour...ended up selling it to someone who exported the car to Australia, although I still have the factory set-up sheets, specs and various other A4 pages of exploded drawings of suspension, etc. with the part numbers.

I replaced it with the ex-Don Hardman Reynard 85F

Take a look at http://www.lolaheritage.co.uk/history/register/t642.htm. Check out HU45. This is my old car. There are pictures on here of it with and without the long tail.

Hi Lola,
Lola 642E HU45 is down in Melbourne Australia (Ex John Pratt - 83 Works Car)
Bought this car in bits in a very sorry state a few years ago and slowly getting there with a full bare chassis rebuild. Have purchased new body work from TW Mouldings UK and plan on finishing in full period livery as run in 83. Car came with long & short tail but will run short as it did in 83. Would be interested if anyone has any decent photos of this car in period as I haven't found many.
