[iV8SC13R20,R21] Sucrogen 400, Townsville: 5-7 July

The crash and bash of Darwin is now done... and its on to Townsville..

Some great speed from some unlikely car across the 4 races... the Erebutians seem to have made some big gains in the break between races, and must now be considered a serious shot at top 10s with each of their cars..

But FPR is kinda back, with 3 of their cars looking quick... HRT seem to have found 'something'... which helps 2 of their stable of 4... while 888 just keep on rocking in the familiar 1-2 championship position...

Who might win in Townsville?

Would be hard to bet against #1...

Will Tville be a bit more of an open flow rather than a tight HV circuit, could some of the mid pack open up their legs? from turn 7 to 10 should be intersting.

Will Tekno step up a cog, will the mercs like it or will the heat of Tville get them. Can Russel bounce back. I dont think it will be a T8 cakewalk

As per usual, Free Practice performance will be dictated by the quality and quantity of a car's tyre bank.

However, it's always a good thing to top the timesheets at some point or another, so as to get a run on Adcafe.

It might just be easier to take a sponsorship deal and guarantee postive coverage No pressure to perform then...

Nissans P1 and P2 in Prac 2 today, that chassis is definitely doing the business.

Reckon they might be pretty nice over the top of the mountain!

Still, getting there with both cars so close is an achievement nonetheless.

Oh how the mighty have fallen... Here

You dont see too many other people not bringing bits to the track, or indeed not testing a new development of this scale before the meeting.

When will Holden cry enough????

No co-drivers, and what seems like a lack of direction.

Not surprising Mr Ingall is shopping elsewhere.

End of this year? I now see that there are heaps more Holden dealers carrying 888 Red Bull gear. Just seems like a team that is just drifting along waiting for the end of the season.

Well done to FPR. Five cars in the top 11 including a 1-2 is a pretty great day's work!

888 had a bad day but still managed a pair of top 10's, and a shedload of airtime!

BJR strong as well..

For all the puffery about how quick the Nissans were earlier in the weekend, we certainly didnt see that today...

Mr Mostert gets another top 10.. 3rd in 4 events. Imagine how well he might go in #6 next year

Great result for Will, Frosty and FPR. Lets hope they can close the gap on RBR tomorrow and keep the championship alive.Good result for RBR after an ordinary qualifying session.

It is interesting that Tony D'Alberto was given a post race time penalty, for what I believe was his part in the dodgem cars with Todd Kelly rather than a points penalty. I wonder if the Lowndes penalty from Hidden Valley caused this to change?

Presumably since the car was delayed with a technical issue, well the #7 mob showed it on the jacks near the end, the car on the air jacks, the rear end being looked at (gearbox??), perhaps they couldnt execute a pit lane penalty?
