I found a link to the full programme. (45mins) Not sure if that will suffer the same problem but worth a try. It works here! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Qmq4jhXRGo |

We have, literally, the following synonyms: "marquer Ã* la culotte", "sucer la roue", "avoir de la laine sous les ongles". Try this with reverso… If you're in great shape you are said having "light sock"! This typical language is really enjoyable. "Avoir tout Ã* gauche" (everything on the left) means small chain ring/large sprocket, "avoir tout Ã* droite" means big chain ring/small sprocket! To explain the combination chain ring/sprocket we say "braquet". Hence, emmener un gros braquet. Mike, I found the equivalent of "on the rivet" but obviously some of our cyclists are less polite than yours! |

Two others, just for fun: "être dans le coffre", literally "in the trunk", another way to be behind a car looking for draft. This last one is almost untranslatable: "becqueter de l'aile"… Imagine a bird's beak on a car wing. Making profit of the car power remaining as discrete as possible (marshals or CoC).

Absolutely no need for apologies E.B. . Such matters are just some of the quirks of the modern era. C4 seem happy to have their publicity material available but not the full piece. Your new link seems to work though. Presumably they have not found that one yet - or it is 'official' in some way. Thanks for taking the time to find it. My search seemed to be sidetracked onto other programmes! |

Viv, we are planning to enter a team in a Pancake Tossing race, Delta will prep the frying pan, Mike will source the ingredients from Morrisons, and Grant will make the pancakes. All we need now is a ******, and you come highly recommended.
Have you any plans for next Easter? Bauble OF |

Pancake??? Well would be interesting for all the Escort drivers wanting a fully compliant Grp1!!Morrissons or not, hard to find…
I'll ask "Aunt Jemima" for you if you like! What a cooker she is, you can't imagine. Thanks for the link EB, works fine even in France, just have to turn my laptop upside down. Do you have it in French too, please? Gérard, former SIMCA driver. |

Former SIMCA driver eh? So is the current Mrs MM. She had a SIMCA 1000 Rallye which IIRC had a 1300 engine in it. Went like hell is a straight line, not so keen on corners. Had a bag of cement in the front "boot" to keep it on the road.

I almost regretted my choice on Thursday - it was a very rough crossing & I'm convinced we hit the bottom at least once, or maybe it was just a rubber boat full of undesirables! We even needed a tug to help us park in Dover. We were promised more of the same on the return on Saturday, especially as the ferries were all running late. However, once we had cleared Dover it was quite a good crossing & we even made-up time. By contrast, the day in between was absolutely beautiful for my brother's funeral - they say the sun shines on the righteous! |

The very last version of the Rallye 2, square headlights, had some improvements to the front suspension. Last edited by Gerard C; 4 Dec 2018 at 14:33. |

Often wondered what I might do when I pack up racing. Had a flight in this today., Great fun but not for me. Think I will just tick this off and move on. Still feel a bit quiezy after 3 hours. |

Watzatt? French aéroplane? Morane or Caudron may be? Did you check the brakes prior to flight?
Bob, if you're preparing a bbq party, consider some extra entertaining and have a ball trap (clay pigeon) organized. In case you need material to replace the clay pigeons, please accept a batch of rotten and soon unemployed politicians, barely used as old! Could be sent deflated or inflated… |

The plane belongs to one of my drivers,a very very experienced pilot.I was fine up until he found the workshop and decided if would be fun to do some dive bombing. If that was not bad enough he then insisted that I have a go. Just had nice cup of tea and fell much better now.

Biggles the pilot I see, but we didn't have this one here i'm afraid. Who remembers 1941 the movie featuring the indomitable Capt Kelso? John may be?

Last time one of our mate made a demo, with a Yak, he had to land promptly just after turning the thing twice. He learned on the hard way the difference between carb' and injection! |

No doubt others here will remember some of John Jordan's exploits with aircraft he borrowed (I believe) from the Shuttleworth Collection.
On one memorable occasion he took-off from Snetterton in a Tiger Moth (may have been a Sopwith Camel, long time ago), but before departing at the end of the day he climbed high above the clubhouse, cut the engine & spiralled down. I've never seen a bar empty so rapidly! It was a week or two after that he performed another stunt at Silverstone, rather upsetting the RAC blazers. |

Do you think you can suggest to delta a good translation to "faire la bombe" ?
Hope everything is quiet where you're coming from, my sweat heart will be there for two days. Unfortunately, she can't bring back goods from Ric Wood for my Christmas! |
