So there you have it.

The starting field as it lines up right now.

we still have bump day to go , so its possible that one of the above drivers will get bumped out of the field.

1 more place in the 90th running of the Indy 500 to be filled and then we are ready for the green

Thread is now open

Penske and Ganassi doing it Noah style up front isn't exactly surprising, and the same is true of Kanaan being right behind.

Beyond that I cannot comment, as my knowledge base of the contemporary scenario is far, far, far too low.

I just hope 13th isn't a significant number for Michael, , as I will be supporting him in the race (a follower of him back in the day).

I hope Michael wins as he has missed out so many times, usually through no fault of his own. This, however, is unlikely.

Realistically, it will be a Penske or a Ganassi ride that takes the win and I reckon Helio will get it.

Great efforts from Matsuura, Marco and Ed to be high up the grid. Penske and Ganassi at the front isn't surprising - I hope Sam can finally take a big result at Indy.

I'm hoping that Dan Wheldon can make it 2 in a row, though I'd be happy to see Dixon win as well. I'm also rooting for Meira. What a race it would be to break your duck! Also good luck to the Andrettis, especially Marco. It would be good to see him finish high up the field-possibly even beating Kanaan?!

Thiago Medeiros will make his Indianapolis 500 debut next Sunday after qualifying with a speed of 215.729mph. Marty Roth gave it a shot but put the #25 into the wall, ruining his chances.

Foyt Racing pulled out the #48 and was preparing to send out Ryan Briscoe, but for some reason, perhaps due to Roth's crash delaying things, it was called off and the grid for the 90th Indianapolis 500 was set.

This is actually Thiago's first career IRL start. He never actually qualified or started the race last year at Fontana.

With the front row that we have and the rivalry between Penske and Ganassi that has been growing throughout the month, I think just about anything can happen at the drop of the green flag - will we see a clean start, or will we see a repeat of 1966, 1973, 1982 or 1995? In six long days, we will know.

I do know one thing, and that is that I will be incredibly excited and incredibly nervous at the same time, right on the edge of my seat, as the 33 cars scream towards turn one, signalling the start of the 90th Indianapolis 500.

Bring it on!

In 2004, at least I am pretty certain 2004, I sat for many hours in the pub, nursing morning-after dehydration, sipping at lemonade on my lonesome, waiting for the start. Fortunately, my plan of picking the dead pub worked out well. It meant that there was never more than a couple of other people there, and fortunately they were not interested in the TV.

In the end, I gave up and went home. It either ran way late in the day, or the next day, I forget, but I didn't get to see it.

Thankfully, such problems I don't face now. I can just sit at home for it. And, indeed, yes, it will be good.

Goot afind out which Sjy channel it's on as i got rid of 2 and extra and am left with 1 and 3?

It's gonna be close with the stongest 4 driver this year on the front 2 rows of the field.

I think Helio's gonna do it, finally getting his third win after being unlucky not to seal his hattrick in 2004.
