cds_uk should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
FIA F2 round 2, Azerbaijan, Baku.

Will be interesting to see how things shake out this weekend, Prema and Arden with a win apiece last year. On the driver front Merhi seems to be confirmed at MP until Monaco at least.

Another notable difference to other circuits on the F2 calendar is the relatively low tyre degradation that the cars tend to suffer on the Baku City Circuit.

Sorry to neg the thread but the new car and sound is desperately dull. It's now just GP3plus!!! I can't believe what's happened to such a great series over the last few years.

Thankfully the racing remains decent though.

Nice end to qualy, last man over the line got the pole. Albon, Norris, Russell top 3!

Russell taking too much from the tyres, needs to be careful in case of SC.

Irrelevant as he outbraked himself at T1 anyway. Bound to blame De Vries and ignore the fact he was running off anyway.

Embarrassing from Russell, he was never making the corner anyway.

Good drive from Albon. Hope he stays in the seat but with that ‘sponsor’ not sure that’s certain.

Looking to be a good season of F2 with fresh talent, some very good.

Norris, Albon, Russell, to a lesser extent Camara, Aitken, De Vries all at the front. See this is what F1 needs, faster turnaround of drivers. Seb and Lewis at 4 titles each, we've been seeing Kimi and Fernando for 17 years near the front... its gets stale, I don't really care about one of these guys making it 5 titles. F1 needs a freshen up.

How boring would F2 look if Timo Glock, Giorgio Pantano and Maldonado were up to 9 titles between them (same years Kimi, Seb and Lewis won their first) and going into 2019 with one of them likely to make it a 5th. Bourdais and Pizzonia would still be in the series as well. YAWN.

Anyway, good race at Baku as always.

The stalling issues are getting farcical now.

Not as farcical as the TV commentators though. No clue whatsoever.

More overtaking in this race than in a whole season of F1.

Not to mention very dangerous. The teams should boycott until it's fixed, it's unacceptable. They're putting halo's on the cars yet 5 cars are sitting on the grid stalled with other cars roaring past. It only takes 2 cars close together and the second car doesn't know there's someone stalled ahead, for it to be another Billy Monger type crash. The further back on the grid you are the more dangerous.

Lando Norris can say goodbye to stealing Vandoorne's seat with these kinds of performances. Camara made him look silly on that first lap, that move on the outside of Latifi and Russell was just desperation, and he was the only driver constantly not able to stay close enough in the last corner to overtake on the straight, of which he always pointlessly went to the outside. I think he'll be better away from these DRS tracks though.

ART dominant though - they could have had two 1-2s without all the issues, they had 0.5sec over everyone.

Plus Lando forgot the most important rule, Never ever overtake under yellow (while Gegal car was at turn 1)

You’re sure he had actually reached the yellow flag before he got in front??

at the time of the camera shot there were yellow lights on, there was a Yellow flag and 2 cars side by side. At least F2 is getting its test car to try to stop all this stalling we have so far. (and FIA let them practise the start as it might help matters)

I wonder if Franz Tost did not put too much pressure on PREMA's Sean.

Yes but the point is he completed the pass before they reached the yellow flag. That’s the rules. It’s irrelevant what was on or what could be seen.

No fuel sample. Short-filled assuming safety car backfired.
