The STIG should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
BARC Pembrey training day 5th March

Hi,
First of all, I'm back. Hi everyone!

Now to the point. I'd like to apologise to all those people at the training day last sunday for whom I managed to spoil their demonstration of the rescue unit. Also like to apologise to Dave, Peter, and Winston for giving them something extra to do!

at the same time, I thank the rescue boys for looking after me, and to everyone who's expressed concern for my condition scince then.

Thank you, and sorry!

Kev
(and now you know why Roger calls me "The Stig"!)

I'm fine, apart from a nasty cut on my chin which now has 12 sitches in it, and some broken teeth. Acorrding to the doctors it was caused by standing around for 10 minutes and the blood going to my feet. I've never been fond of needles or the like though, so prehaps it was that.

If you are going to have an accident, at least do it whilst standing behind a rescue unit !!

Goodness, how will you last a full days marshalling if you collapse after 10 minutes

Seriously, I hope you are feeling better.

To cut a long story short, I fainted and fell over. face first onto a concrete floor.

Hi there

Please may I book you for our rescue training next year; it is always so difficult to get casualties.

But, more seriously, glad to hear you are well/getting well.

Regards

Jim

ha! I think my acting carreer ends here, or it would had I actually been acting! It's rumoured that one of BARCs top men complimented someone on having such a realistic scenario but I don't indend a repeat performance

Hi Kev,

Welcome back.

Glad you're feeling better and don't worry about giving the rescue boys "extra" work to do - most of them don't do anything most of the time anyway!

Sheila

Shelia I strongly resent that.

Someone wake me up when Sheila replies.

Ah, sorry, I should have said:

most of them don't do anything most of the time anyway! (apart from lounging around in a van, drinking coffee, eating donuts and reading the papers). At least that's what Steve admits to doing anyway!

Aha. You're in good company. I once saw an Olympic Gymnast do that (admittedly from several feet up), and it was memorably described by the commentator as a "three-point landing - two eyes and a nose"

Hope you're now OK.

However, you're not the only one to do that this year; the same thing happened at the Oulton Incident Training Day whilst we were being shown the contents of the Rescue Unit. Luckily I don't think there was any permanent damage just bruising and a bad headache.

Coincidentally, on both occasions there was a Charnley present......................

Not me Adam! You know I don't do accidents - it's Dave you need to blame.

Ah Right! There are so many people who seem to know me, and I have no idea of who they are!
