Was the Evo in the pic co-incidental? I gotta say I keep seeing Legacy's about and they are classy looking machines. As for me, Fiesta Zetec-S TDCi - |

one of those themes that keeps cropping up from time to time, although it's been a while since the last one!
I'll make it sticky this time So, between us me and Aly (aka The Wife) have a Quantum H4i which is Aly's main commuting car, 1800cc Zetec powered by LPG, a Vincent Hurricane which Aly bought anout 12 years ago and is an absolut blast to drive- not huge power or amazing handling but great open motoring fun! The 'sensible family vehicle' is a Toyota Previa which last year replaced our much loved 1984 Granada. I was going to tell you about my Dutton Melos but that dosn't count because it's in bits |

Just the 1 Garcon, and its 2 years old im afraid. The pic was taken before I could drive the car. (long story). Still, it looks pretty much the same now as it did back then, a pretty tidy car for its age. IMO.

I'm driving a Ford BA Falcon wagon (estate), to fill in a few details for you UK folk it's a 4.0L 6cyl with 182kW (~240hp) and 380Nm torque, 4sp auto. It's big (>5m long) and goes (reasonably) fast but doesn't use too much fuel, approx 11L/100km or 26mpg average with more city than hwy driving. I haven't timed a 0-60 but it should be under 8sec comfortably even with quite a tall first gear. Even though it is the base model it has cruise, a/c, power front windows, power drivers seat, trip computer & other useful stuff.

I have one of these sitting in the driveway right now too... its an evaluation vehicle owned by FoMoCo... for our 200+ commercial traveller fleet. Its an XT model, which is well equipped as you suggest... this one is on LPG... and I am not particularly a fan of the gas tank under the cargo area, and the spare tyre in the load space. It has a cargo cage as well... Its not my cup of tea in driving terms... and am not sure its better than the VZ Commodore I had last week, or certainly the Toyota Rav4 I had under evaluation a couple of weeks ago |

K reg 1.4 Vauxhall Astra, it's not what you got, but what you do with it. Real fun embarassing people who buy a car for what it can do for their image, rather than what it can do for them.
But that's a poor man talking. |

Yeah its a Holden.
The design was based of the opel at the time i think (car is a 93 model) but even seeing the opels in pictures, you can tell there isn't much difference. Even our early commodores like early 80s, look identicle to an opel coupe i saw a pic of. |

I've been meaning to make a thread about my 'new' car, but cbf, now it's got around to it
It's a1989 R31 Skyline, had it about a year, bought it with a dead engine (it sounded real nasty). as soon as I got it home gave it a good polish, as it's paint is pretty faded, you can tell in the pics, but it was tons worse, when polished it looked a fair bit better than it does now, I seriously havn't polished or even washed it since about christmas, I'll be painting it in the near future. About a week later swapped the engine out, the new engine came out of a mates car, who was replaceing his RB30 with an RB20 turbo engine. I just kept it as it was for a while, while sourcing RB30 turbo parts (from VL Turbo Commodore), lowered it, fitted the rims from my other Skyline that I have since sold, and fitted a 3" exhaust in anticipation for the turbo. Just about 3-4 months ago I finally did the turbo conversion, and the first time I hit boost it put the biggest smile on my face at this time I didn't have a front pipe (from the dump pipe to the cat converter) so on boost it was damn loud when the wastegate opened and bypassed the exhaust wheel of the turbo, antisocial driving at it's best !:P great fun that. After about a month I fitted the R32 front pipe that a mate gave me, fitted perfect The VL Turbo didn't have an intercooler from the factory, so just on Friday I and a mate did the piping for it and goes a fair bit harder now, Garrett intercooler with custom end tanks (inlet and outlet on same side), the best part is I didn't have to cut much out of the front bumper out to fit it, and didn't have to more my number plate to the side (though I might later for more airflow) so from the outside you can hardly tell it's there. Basic Specs 1989 Series 3 R31 Nissan Skyline Silhouette, built by Nissan Australia (unfortunately, the import R31s are much better put together, but still better built than Commodore/Falcon of the era) RB30E+T Single cam 3L straight 6 turbo Factory LSD Manual Garrett intercooler 10psi boost 3" exhaust Front lip spoiler Power would be roughly 220-230rwhp (hp at the wheels) so about 220-230 kW at the flywheel, which is around 300hp at the flywheel? It has yet to be dynoed, but a mates car with almost the exact same mods got those figures, it'll be on the dyno in about a month so I'll find out for sure then... that's about it, it's quite unassuming, which I love. http://i10.tinypic.com/3z1wsac.jpg http://i10.tinypic.com/3y67r68.jpg http://i9.tinypic.com/4bfniis.jpg |

I've still got my 97 Pug 306 DTurbo, the old girl has gone past 143K now
I was looking at replacing it but that's going to have to wait until we've got another rally car sorted out (got to get the priorities right ). |
