Which car would you drive?
Now that we are reminescing about f1 cars.
If you could drive One and only one which one would you drive? Personally I would want to drive the 97 Williams. |

Just one? Sheesh, ask an awkward question, why don't you?
I can't drive...but let's pretend I can. I think I'd like to drive one of the turbo-charged cars from the 80s. But seeing as I was only 2 when turbo chargers were banned, I couldn't name one in particular. |

Today's cars would suit me just fine. They won't spin me around on my insensitive gasfoot, have the sticky tires and downforce to prevent me from losing it close to the limit and leave enough room for corrections. I couldn't blow the engine or destroy the gearbox by setting some foot wrong or shift too late. The steering would be light and thankfully aided by the diff. Only benefits I guess. Geez, if I pick up jogging daily and lifting weights with a head strap I see a career glooming on the horizon.
And because I'd like to have a lot of fun that day and have a few beers afterwards it could only be with the Jordan team in the EJ11. |

Too many to judge by.
1967 Eagle-Ford Cosworth... ya I know, AAR had the unreliable Weslake motor... but hey, I can dream, can't I ?
1968 Eagle-Offy at Indy. 1965 Lotus 33 1967 Lotus 49 But my fav' of all time I guess would be the Williams FW07 (1979-1980). That's the most adorable car for me. 1988 McLaren MP4/4 wasn't bad either. |

Something fast, reasonably safe, fun to drive - and can be thrown around the place a bit. How about a 1988 McLaren?
Other than that, a Lotus 49 sounds fun, or maybe a ground effect, turbo Renault. Or a 1994 Benetton, or a 2001 Sauber. Or a 1950 Gordini or a .... Ah, why only one? I want to drive them all!! |

I agree, low sitting, fat tires, 1000+ hp. There's gotta be some fun in there somewhere. At least after I spin it a few times. |

The Maserati 250F was supposed to be a joy to drive.
I'd like to try the Lotus 25, 33, 49, 72, 79 though. I also loved the BRM P160, another rumoured to be great handler. |

The Tyrrell P34 6-wheeler would be a pretty cool ride for an older model, but any of the new cars would suit me fine, Dino has the right idea about this..a bit easier to drive, once you knew what each button was for.

Anything that had a realistic chance of winning. I'll back myself.
I do like the taste of humble pie too. If I had to pick one, I'd like a go in the Maserati 250F. |

But if you want one, then I'd take the Williams FW14B over them all. Firstly, Nigel Mansell drove it. Secondly, he won the WDC in it. Thirdly, it was one of the greatest cars ever. |
