If he could **** off now and I don't have to hear his self absorbed drivel it would be good. I guess with Telstra we won't be seeing cars, events or drivers sponsored forever.

I can remember standing on the hill at Queensland Raceway in probably ‘03, with BigPond branding everywhere, and a mobile phone repeater tower just over there..

Now if Telstra is a part of the play, looking for content of all kinds to differentiate their otherwise vanilla, yet top tier product offering, we can only hope and pray there is a heartbeat inside that former government department looking to be categorically unleashed..

Santa has arrived early for Mr Adderton!

Perhaps he could buy Mr Ecclestones F1 car collection as an early Christmas present?

Former prime minister Paul Keating is in line for a payday of at least $40 million after the prepaid mobile phone business he co-founded with entrepreneur Peter Adderton was sold to sector giant Telstra.

The telecommunications giant will acquire Boost Mobile for just under $140 million in cash, and hopes to use the high-profile brand to sell to customers looking for a cheaper deal and for pre-paid phone plans.

Boost Mobile was founded in 2000 and does not have its own network. Instead, it sells plans using Telstra’s infrastructure. Mr Keating owns almost 29 per cent of Boost Mobile; Mr Adderton’s stake is about 32 per cent.

“I’ve got a chunk of a successful business which I co-founded and funded myself,” Mr Keating said. “I’m reasonable at my own ventures.”

Mr Keating, whose term in government was marked by deregulation of the country’s telecommunications sector, was the sole investor in Boost Mobile when it was founded. He invested about $500,000 after negotiating the rights to use the Optus network (it switched to Telstra in 2013).

I thought Paul Keating was a working class boy from Bankstown?

At least Boost bought home the bacon, unlike the pig farm he invested in.

Bernie's collection might be worth more than $45 milion, but it is a great start!

Must have been interesting when young Paul Keating turned up the Labor branch meetings in his E type Jaguar and swathe suits.

Did Adderton really found Boost? I thought Paul Keating did and Adderton was brought in to do marketing.

Interesting ownership group... and that Mr Keating is labelled a marketer...

Mr Haynes might be a good get for V8Supercar in the Events team...
