Archer - I would be a bit disappointed if O.Kelly, Brabham, W.Davison, Stokell and Porter were all considered ahead of Dean Canto and even Jamie Whincup or Cameron McLean for that matter. Even Luff and Coulthard, but I guess we have to live with Dumbrell and apparently Besnard.
According to the interview in MN this week, McFadyen doesn't seem particularly interested in the V8s apart from a fall-back second option. Give it to someone who really wants it. And Grumblebum - Dale Brede, Alan Gurr and Allan Simonsen???? |

Perhaps its not by accident that Konica Minolta is considering not renewing its naming rights deal for that series next season....
The company previously funded SER, and indeed is a PMM backer... pool the cash from these events and you could probably almost run a main series car.... |

Interesting news there, GTRMagic. Mind you, so is the Brede to SuperCheap concept
Congratulance to our "new"(?) poster, Grumblebum....Craig Baird has extended the TKR driving contract for a further 2 years, according to word on the street in NZ. Great news for TKR, especially given the recent sharpness of form. Bairdo is one of the under-rates of the Supercar Series. I would bet you one of your arms that if all the Supercars were limited to a maximum 500 horsepower motor, Bairdo would be at the thick of it all much more consistently. He has proven quick in the wet, when we all know that horsepower is far less important. Bairdo will not be at GRM next year...money doesn't seem to motivate him! |

Given the quality of car delivered by GRM to TKR last season, and the team and driver's public and private views on the standard of workmanship and performance, I cant really see Mr Baird rocking up to Glen Waverly each day for work.....

You mean the PMM/TKR joint venture?

Well it seems to be a complete joint-venture from the outside. Maybe from the Evo inside, things are different?

The TKR car is ex-PMM, but prepared, engineered and engined (by Mr Burns) in isolation from the main PMM equipe.
While its true they share a pit boom, and some technical equipment as part of this share arrangement, to call it a JV might be pushing it a little.... |

I am not sure its denial... the 2 teams dont test at the same track, dont share their cars at tests they may have, dont share an engine builder.. hell the TKR car still runs a VX engine...
Sure PMM supplies pitcrew that service the TKR car, and the Sirromet car, but you also see the TKR boys on Sirromet car stops too... If the noise around the Konica/Smiths Trucks team for 2005 is correct, that is where any "JV" (hopefully not Jacques Villeneuve or Jos Verstappen ) may come to the fore.... |

Perhaps you are right, GTR. Smith Trucks to step up in 2005.
Any news on Howard Racing doing the same? |

It wouldnt surprise me to see this driver move to Carrera Cup (presuming it runs in 2005 and beyond) but I dont think a main series assault is on the radar here... |
