Big flat bit or nice pointy bit - which has lower drag?

Not sure if this is a serious question or not.... but just in case it is : Fast aeroplanes (like Concorde) fast boats (like a navy frigate) and fast cars (like F1) all have pointy noses to make the neatest, cleanest, least upsetting hole in the air, so that what follows can slip through it with the least fuss. Unlike people with pointy noses, who are usually just good accountants.

really as a drag reducer / streamlining. Secondary usage is as a crash structure sometimes

To create less drag, to create more downforce (you normally have to balance between these 2 as quite often more downforce means more drag). Many cars you also need the front nose cone to put air under neath the car as this boost performance for any difusers you may have.
