I have just snatched some results for some races maybe not covered in Allens MN reports to throw in to help Steves sore head!
1 reason for dumping these results is to show Targa LM USA WCM race with cars and the variety of drivers entrants and how hard it mught be to nail down some cars UNLESS we get to read the domestic magazine reports around these events for more info i have not had time to make some notes on cars drivers other than to say Hugh Kleinpeter still has his B21 car in 73 ( even though he does advertise it for sale in AS advert in 73 and i think it is then "updated" to 23 spec for 73 races and the entrant is the same for teh Watkins glen 6 hr for Buffum now this will make Allens head hurt as well- and i need to find the SCCA BSR results i have some where with B1921 cars in it 500 km Interlagos 3.9.1972 6. 33 Paul Blancpain / CH Chevron B19 18. 8 Fredy Link / A Chevron B19 Ford 4 h Le Mans 19.4.1972 2. 83 Michel Dupont CH José Dolhem / F Chevron B19 1000 km Monza 25.4.1972 6. 39 Eris Tondelli Mauro Formento I Tondelli BT Ford Ent Tondelli 16 Michel Dupont CH Fabrizio Noe I Chevron B19 Ford DNF Ent Dupont 18 Gabriele Serblin Jacopo Trivellato I - DND Chevron B19 Ent Gabriele Serblin 19 Walter Frey Peter Ettmüller CH - DND Chevron B19/21 Ford Ent Squadra Tartaruga Targa Florio 21.5.1972 54 Pasquale Anastasio Giovanni Boeris I Chevron B19 Ford Ent Pasquale Anastasio 25. 48 Eris Tondelli Mauro Formento I Chevron B19 Ford Ent Eris Tondelli Did not finish 14 Giovanni Alberti Gianfranco Bonetto I Chevron B21 Ford LM 24Hr 72 23 Brian Robinson Jean Rondeau Chevron B21 Ford EntBrian Robinson 69 Michel Dupont Jean-Paul Bodin F Chevron B19 Ford EntMichel Dupont Watkins Glen 6 Hours 22.7.1972 9. 26 Douglas Shierson Bill Barber USA Chevron B19Ford Ent Shierson-Opert Racing Not classified: 37 Pete Sherman Pete Lo Bianco USA Chevron B19 Ford Ent Pete Lo Bianco Did not finish 29 Fred van Beuren, Jr. MEX ohn Buffum Chevron B21 Ford Ent J Buffam 11 Dave Jordan Johnnie Crean SA Chevron B21 Ford Ent JohnnieCrean Did not start 25 Peter Schuster USA Perez Gama MEX Chevron B19 Ford Ent Shierson-Opert 52 Hugh Kleinpeter Tony Belcher SA Chevron B21 Ford Ent Promotional Advertising 24 h Daytona .2.1973 DNF 10 Bill Barber Charlie Kemp USA Chevron B19 Ford Shierson Racing 52 Hugh Kleinpeter Jim Gammon USA Chevron B21/23 Ford Promotion Advertising 57th Targa Florio 1 3.5.1973 14 Luigi Moreschi "Frank McBoden"I Chevron B21 Ford Ent Luigi Moreschi 9. 44 Mauro Nesti Giovanni Morelli Chevron B21 Ford Ent Giovanni Morelli 20 Armando Floridia Mauro Formento Chevron B21 Ford Ent Scuderia Brescia Corse 13. 42 Piero Monticone Giovanni Chevron B21 Ford Ent Giovanni Boeris 16. 21 Giovanni Alberti Gianfranco Bonetto I Chevron B21 Ford Ent Giovanni Alberti DNF 22 Eris Tondelli Giuseppe Virgilio I Chevron B21 Ford Ent Eris Tondelli DNQ 3 Abele Tanghetti Antonio Zadra I Chevron B21 Ford Ent Abele Tanghetti 24Hr le man 2 Roger Dubos Christine Beckers F Chevron B21/23 Ford Ent Blancpain Total Dinitrol DNQ 66 Brian Robinson José Uriarte ANG Chevron B21 Ford Ent Promoto Racing Services Watkins Glen 6 Hours 21.7.1973 DNF 91 Bob Fisher John Buffum USA Chevron B23 Ford Ent Professional Racing |

The reason those don't appear is that I've only got as far as 9 April 1972 so far. I can identify one of the new ones for you:
Pete Lo Bianco = B19.71.33 |

Serblin is mentioned in the Trivellato book as - in 1972 "taking part in some of the races composing the European Constructors Championship for two litre cars in a Chevron B19 serviced by Trivellato, gaining a sixth place at Salzburg." Given that Trivellato became the official March agent for Italy at the end of 72 one would assume this car changes hands at the end of the year as well, anything in Autosprint?

The number 5 car has this funny plate with 18 (and not 10) and the purple rivets. Kessler car (271 or 27 in pre historics one week earlier) plate reads CH-DBE-08 |

Here i post the results from Japan races i go to end of 1974 to catch any cars-
more Lola T290/292 cars and March 73/4/5S cars raced there than Chevrons I make some note shere now 1 I have stood next to the Tanaka car in Japan being restored i cannot recall chassis number and i dont think i took a photo of plate maybe the chassis but as i was repossing £2k worth of parts from the guy after non payment of 2 years and countless BS stories i was more interested in getting the £ or the parts and yes i did travel all the way there specifically to sort him out! 2 Kazoat wa skilled in GC Chevron so i assume his later B26 I do also belive another Chevron was destroyed in a fiery accident in 73 that my own car was involved in i have the magazine photos and will try to get my man over ther to re tell me his verbal translation for future records I give the results with race position and car number dont have the entrants it does appear only 1 new B19 ever sold to Japan ( allen i leave u to tell them the number) and then later only 1 new B21 in 72 In 1973 1 more B19 cars appears PLUS a B21and 5 x B23 cars i will assume that this B19 cars is ex DART team car from Brian Robinson he said Bob Howlings sold for him to Japan ( i do believe the car is still there) For future reference Kazato has B23-73-19 Japan GC records 1971 Fuji 500 Kilometres, Fuji 15.8.1971 2. 6 Hiromu Tanaka / J Chevron B19 Fuji Inter 200 Miles, Fuji 5.9.1971 13. 6 Hiromu Tanaka / J Chevron B19 Fuji Master 250 Kilometres, Fuji 10.10.1971 3. 6 Hiromu Tanaka / J Chevron B19 1972 Fuji 300 Kilometres, Fuji Speedway 20.3.1972 11. 18 Hiroshi Fushida / J Chevron B21P Ford 19. 2 Hiromu Tanaka / J Chevron B19 Fuji Gran 300 Miles, Fuji Speedway 4.6.1972 7. 2 Hiromu Tanaka / J Chevron B19 9. 18 Hiroshi Fushida / J Chevron B21P Ford Fuji Inter 200 Miles, Fuji 3.9.1972 2. 18 Hiroshi Fushida / J Chevron B21P Ford 4. 2 Hiromu Tanaka / J Chevron B19 Fuji Master 250 Kilometres, Fuji 10.10.1972 3 . 18 Hiroshi Fushida / J Chevron B21P Ford 20. 2 Hiromu Tanaka / J Chevron B19 Fuji Victory 200 Kilometres, Fuji 23.11.1972 6. 18 Hiroshi Fushida / J Chevron B21P Ford 2 Hiromu Tanaka / J Chevron B19 1973 Fuji 300 Kilometres, Fuji 18.3.1973 2 . 7 Masaharu Nakano / J Chevron B19 14. 1 Hiroshi Fushida / J Chevron B21P 27 Jiro Yoneyama / J Chevron B21 Fuji Gran 300 Kilometres, Fuji 3.6.1973 5. 1 Hiroshi Fushida / J Chevron B21P Ford 11. 7 Masaharu Nakano / J Chevron B19 Ford 22. 86 Akira Tajima / J Chevron B23 Ford 44 Keiichi Tahara / J Chevron B19 Ford 4 Moto Kitano / J Chevron B23 Ford DNS 27 Jiro Yoneyama / J Chevron B21 Ford Fuji Inter 200 Miles, Fuji 2.9.1973 5. 1 Hiroshi Fushida / J Chevron B21P 7.3 Noritake Takahara / J Chevron B23 8. 80 Hiroshi Kazato / J Chevron B23 9. 4 Moto Kitano / J Chevron B23 13. 7 Masaharu Nakano / J Chevron B23 14. 52 Yoshimi Katayama /J Chevron B21 5. 44 Keiichi Tahara / J Chevron B19 16. 86 Motokuni Tajima / J Chevron B23 Fuji Master 250 Kilometres, Fuji 10.10.1973 1. 80 Hiroshi Kazato / J Chevron B23 5. 1 Hiroshi Fushida / J Chevron B21P 10. 7 Masaharu Nakano / J Chevron B23 13. 88 Naohiro Fujita / J Chevron B23 . 17 52 Yoshimi Katayama / J Chevron B21 21. 3 Noritake Takahara / J Chevron B23 22. 44 Keiichi Tahara / J Chevron B19 86 Motokuni Tajima / J Chevron B23 Fuji Victory 200 Kilometres, Fuji 23.11.1973 2. 80 Hiroshi Kazato / J Chevron B23/26 6. 88 Naohiro Fujita / J Chevron B23 DNF 85 Takashi Yorino / J Chevron B23 1 Hiroshi Fushida / J Chevron B21P 7 Masaharu Nakano / J Chevron B23 44 Keiichi Tahara / J Chevron B19 86 Motokuni Tajima / J Chevron B23 1974 Fuji 300 Kilometres, Fuji 5.5.1974 4. 11 Jiro Yoneyama / J Chevron B23 5. 14 Mutsuaki Sanada / J Chevron B23 10. 88 Hiroshi Kazato / J Chevron B26 12. 9 Shigeki Asaoka / J Chevron B23 DNF 4 Moto Kitano / J Chevron B19 85 Takashi Yorino / J Chevron B23 Fuji Gran 300 Kilometres, Fuji 2.6.1972 5. 10 Hiroshi Kazato / J Chevron B26 BMW 6. 14 Kenji Tohira / J Chevron B23 Ford 7. 11 Jiro Yoneyama / J Chevron B23 Ford 11. 15 Takashi Yorino / J Chevron B23 Mazda . 17 66 Ken'ichi Take****a / J Chevron B23 Ford Fuji Inter 200 Miles, Fuji 1.9.1974 1. 18 Hiroshi Fushida / J Chevron B21P Ford 5. 88 Naohiro Fujita / J Chevron B23 BMW 6. 15 Takashi Yorino / J Chevron B23 Mazda 11. 11 Jiro Yoneyama / J Chevron B21 Ford DNF 66 Ken'ichi Take****a /J Chevron B23 14 Kenji Tohira / J Chevron B23 16 Norimitsu Urushihara / J Chevron B19 Fuji Master 250 Kilometres, Fuji 10.10.1974 3. 88 Naohiro Fujita / J Chevron B23 4. 14 Naoshi Sugizaki / J Chevron B23 5. 15 Takashi Yorino / J Chevron B23 11. 11 Jiro Yoneyama / J Chevron B21 12. 18 Hiroshi Fushida / J Chevron B21P DNS 6 Moto Kitano / J Chevron B23 9 Hajime Watanabe / J Chevron B23 Fuji Victory 200 Kilometres, Fuji 24.11.1974 5. 18 Hiroshi Fushida / J Chevron B21P 6. 15 Takashi Yorino / J Chevron B23 7. 88 Naohiro Fujita / J Chevron B23 DNF 11 Jiro Yoneyama / J Chevron B21 Last edited by driftwood; 9 Jan 2009 at 17:59. |

As far as I recall /18 was attributed to Martin Birranes car which then went to Dave Vegha (spelling?) in CA so photo caption could have been transposed?

Serblin won the 1000 proto class in Italy in a Fiat Abarth SP in 1971- Trivellato had a tie up with the Dutch Team Radio Veronica ( as did Hezemans I think) could the Abarth 19 have gone to Serblin/Trivellato? (It could just as easily be one of Tondelli's stock but there are links).

Two points; elsewhere Martin K (I think) suggests the Dupont car could be /21 (this was noted by Drifty) and who or what is SCATO? Dupont is listed as Swiss and so one would have thought a Siffert connection likely but a Tondelli sale is also possible.

Allen yes i accept i should be shot for not taking plate foto but as i was explaining to my "learned" friend this evening i was repossing some parts and it is impolite to take fotos in japan without asking permission first and as we had "tension" i erred on the side of caution ( i cannot stand rejection!) as the offending debtor had to remove a motor from a March F2 car and give me back my parts cos he was to firkin dumb to pay me!
anyway i digress and return to the next point This car had a copy of Jap race mag opened on page sof article/track test on this B19 I alos purchased a retro magazine or 5 and 2 mags have useful fotos 1 is of 1971 Lola T212 v B19 back to back and the 1973 mag has a foto of the B19 in new livery as it has distinctive bodywork AND a foto of the 2nd B19 that races in 73 ( this i reckon is the ex DART ex Robinson car Bob h sold to japan) I will scan these mags with race info and send to my man in land of lising sun for transration IF your good over the weekend i might send you a sample PS Osella abarth- i cant remember everything! NB not i had stayed away from #20 observation !! |

The ex Tanaka car is raced in 73 by 7 Masaharu Nakano Chevron B19 Ford and later in 73 he starts to call the car B23
in the magazine i have for the Fuji 1000 km race 29 7 73 he actually emters as B19/23 but the foto is repainted Tanaka bodied car I even have a Fly model ( well 2 actually i can sell 1) of Tanaka B19 I do have some more doubles of Fly models various liveries to sell - never buy models on ebay and not keep records of what you actually have!!!!! Looking ahead i find 1 B19 runs in 77 78 races with Mazda power 27 Kaneyuki Okamoto Chevron B19 Mazda Okamoto Racing I am aware of a 3rd B19 in Japan but i believe this came into Japan in the 80`s |
