driftwood has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
I have just snatched some results for some races maybe not covered in Allens MN reports to throw in to help Steves sore head!
1 reason for dumping these results is to show Targa LM USA WCM race with cars and the variety of drivers entrants and how hard it mught be to nail down some cars UNLESS we get to read the domestic magazine reports around these events for more info
i have not had time to make some notes on cars drivers other than to say Hugh Kleinpeter still has his B21 car in 73 ( even though he does advertise it for sale in AS advert in 73 and i think it is then "updated" to 23 spec for 73 races and the entrant is the same for teh Watkins glen 6 hr for Buffum
now this will make Allens head hurt as well- and i need to find the SCCA BSR results i have some where with B1921 cars in it

The reason those don't appear is that I've only got as far as 9 April 1972 so far. I can identify one of the new ones for you:

Pete Lo Bianco = B19.71.33

I don't think it does. Remember the reference to Hine's crashed car being rebuilt and fitted with the Abarth engine? That could be B19.71.32. I haven't figured out how many accidents Bridges and HIne had between them yet.

Seven Tondelli cars on the list so there's more than enough to explain these three.

Serblin is mentioned in the Trivellato book as - in 1972 "taking part in some of the races composing the European Constructors Championship for two litre cars in a Chevron B19 serviced by Trivellato, gaining a sixth place at Salzburg." Given that Trivellato became the official March agent for Italy at the end of 72 one would assume this car changes hands at the end of the year as well, anything in Autosprint?

I was there and I think you will find those cars in the shots I supplied earlier, except the Roy Walzer car, so I'll post it here
The number 5 car has this funny plate with 18 (and not 10) and the purple rivets.
Kessler car (271 or 27 in pre historics one week earlier) plate reads CH-DBE-08

REFER TO THE EMAILS AND INFO I SENT ON CHASSIS 27? IN ZA
B19-71-29 was a rebuild of the scrapped chassis B19-71-25 (which itself was a rebuild of the scrapped chassis B19-71-08)

Here i post the results from Japan races i go to end of 1974 to catch any cars-
more Lola T290/292 cars and March 73/4/5S cars raced there than Chevrons

I make some note shere now
1 I have stood next to the Tanaka car in Japan being restored i cannot recall chassis number and i dont think i took a photo of plate maybe the chassis but as i was repossing £2k worth of parts from the guy after non payment of 2 years and countless BS stories i was more interested in getting the £ or the parts and yes i did travel all the way there specifically to sort him out!

2 Kazoat wa skilled in GC Chevron so i assume his later B26
I do also belive another Chevron was destroyed in a fiery accident in 73 that my own car was involved in i have the magazine photos and will try to get my man over ther to re tell me his verbal translation for future records

I give the results with race position and car number dont have the entrants
it does appear only 1 new B19 ever sold to Japan ( allen i leave u to tell them the number) and then later only 1 new B21 in 72
In 1973 1 more B19 cars appears PLUS a B21and 5 x B23 cars
i will assume that this B19 cars is ex DART team car from Brian Robinson he said Bob Howlings sold for him to Japan ( i do believe the car is still there)
For future reference Kazato has B23-73-19

As far as I recall /18 was attributed to Martin Birranes car which then went to Dave Vegha (spelling?) in CA so photo caption could have been transposed?

E. Brescia Corse: Carlo Facetti (Abarth engine)
'E' has turned out to be B19.71.8 so when it reappears at Zandvoort it may actually be B19.71.32. The problem I have is that the lists I currently have don't identify the car fitted with the Abarth so I can't be sure.

Serblin won the 1000 proto class in Italy in a Fiat Abarth SP in 1971- Trivellato had a tie up with the Dutch Team Radio Veronica ( as did Hezemans I think) could the Abarth 19 have gone to Serblin/Trivellato? (It could just as easily be one of Tondelli's stock but there are links).

The Tanaka car appears in the Chevron B19 list as B19.71.20 but the more attentive of you will immediately notice that the Dupont car was observed at Montjuich in 1972 wearing the same number. There's no mention of Dupont in the B19 list. Simon - could you double-check that number in the Montjuich book please?

Two points; elsewhere Martin K (I think) suggests the Dupont car could be /21 (this was noted by Drifty) and who or what is SCATO? Dupont is listed as Swiss and so one would have thought a Siffert connection likely but a Tondelli sale is also possible.

driftwood has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
Allen yes i accept i should be shot for not taking plate foto but as i was explaining to my "learned" friend this evening i was repossing some parts and it is impolite to take fotos in japan without asking permission first and as we had "tension" i erred on the side of caution ( i cannot stand rejection!) as the offending debtor had to remove a motor from a March F2 car and give me back my parts cos he was to firkin dumb to pay me!
anyway i digress and return to the next point
This car had a copy of Jap race mag opened on page sof article/track test on this B19
I alos purchased a retro magazine or 5 and 2 mags have useful fotos
1 is of 1971 Lola T212 v B19 back to back and the 1973 mag has a foto of the B19 in new livery as it has distinctive bodywork AND a foto of the 2nd B19 that races in 73 ( this i reckon is the ex DART ex Robinson car Bob h sold to japan) I will scan these mags with race info and send to my man in land of lising sun for transration
IF your good over the weekend i might send you a sample

PS Osella abarth- i cant remember everything!
NB not i had stayed away from #20 observation !!

The ex Tanaka car is raced in 73 by 7 Masaharu Nakano Chevron B19 Ford and later in 73 he starts to call the car B23
in the magazine i have for the Fuji 1000 km race 29 7 73 he actually emters as B19/23 but the foto is repainted Tanaka bodied car
I even have a Fly model ( well 2 actually i can sell 1) of Tanaka B19
I do have some more doubles of Fly models various liveries to sell - never buy models on ebay and not keep records of what you actually have!!!!!

Looking ahead i find 1 B19 runs in 77 78 races with Mazda power
27 Kaneyuki Okamoto Chevron B19 Mazda Okamoto Racing

I am aware of a 3rd B19 in Japan but i believe this came into Japan in the 80`s
