Who would win a race between the test drivers of the top three teams (McLaren, Williams, Ferrari), if they were driving in the latest raced models of their respective teams?
I think qualifying would see Massa on the front row with Wurz, but in the race it'd be between Badoer and Wurz, with Gene and De La Rosa solid and reliable, and Massa probably chucking it into a wall somewhere. Ultimatly, I think Badoer would take the win due to superior machinery. Last edited by DNQ; 30 Jul 2003 at 12:10. |

Luca for sure. He is the one guy who probably knows an F1 car best. He has done so many laps over the last few years in testing.

Massa on pole but kamikazes into Wurz at the start.
Badoer runs away with it. de la Rosa slightly ahead of Gene. |

In a Ferrari, and how fast it has been so far at the tests, I go for Massa.

Excellent idea - now that we've lost the half hour warm up. Why don't all the teams run the spare car in a 15 lapper on Sun morning, first 6 home get to start at the back in the GP.

Wurz - highly underrated and very unlucky to be stuck as number three at McLaren. If his year at Bennetton had been in a lighter car (with his own weight it was over the limit and thus uncompetitive) he'd be in a good drive by now. And he's a good cyclist, so he must be alright.

Badoer would probably take the race because he would have a faster car and has more race experience

At the moment most people have voted for Luca (only just) which is interesting because he is the only one of the five who has never scored a point in an F1 race.
I think he holds the record actually for driving in most GP's without ever scoring a point (not the best record to have in F1 terms). |

Sure, if you drive the worst cars in the field it's not that hard to score 0 points.

And the Minardi that Badoer got to fourth only to break his gearbox was what?
I value that higher than Mean Gene's 1 solitary point. |

If the race was a shortened distance I would with Wurz in the MP4-18!

I'd say Badoer, but the race would probably be closer than the regular F1 races.

Massa would beat Badoer IMO, if he kept it pointing the right way. He made mistakes right up to Suzuka, but he was usually as quick or quicker than Heidfeld towards the end of last year.

IMO Ferlipe Massa is the most talented among the listed drivers; after the useful struggle of last year with sauber, he certainly deserves a prime seat; maybe the role of second drivers at ferrari could be a good way to start in a top squad

The name is missing, although personally I think that Anthony Davidson would win hands down!
