"Unknown" F3 Championships

I tried to find some information about Turkish F3 Championship but I found that quite difficult. I Googled "Türkiye Formula 3 Şampiyonası" and other things I guess could mean Turkish F3 championship... The most resent news I found were from 2006. Does this championship still exist?

How ever, I started wondering if there are more unknown F3 series running. I believe I have heard about Greek F3...

Can anyone supply any info about these (and other) series (drivers, cars, calendars, results...)?

Greek F3 stopped some time ago. Turkish F3, which has 1600cc engines IIRC, definitely happened in 2006, not sure this year.

The Austrian F3 Cup (only 2 of 10 races in Austria!) was won by Stefan Neuberger this year. Also there is the Austrian Trophy for older cars.

There used to be some catchily-named (Central European?) Austro/former-Yugoslavian countries championship but I'm not if that one is still going.

Austria F3 Cup may even have one race in Finland in 2008

Does the Swiss series have a web site? I understood they raced together with Austrian cup at least in some races, but did they have "own" races too?

I don't know if "Fórmula Super Mouras" could be called as an "Unknown F3".
This Argentinian regional series uses the F3 chassis previously run at Argentinian Fórmula Super Renault and allows F3 cars prior to 2001, but not with F3 engines but street car ones (e.g. a Renault 21 engine).
The name Mouras became from their links with the TC Pista Mouras, an official lower division of Turismo Carretera, generally based around the Roberto Mouras autodrome on the city of La Plata.

I would be interested in any info re Greek F3. My car was bought back from Greece in 2001 so any pictures or results would be fantastic. It is a Reynard 883 006 and it was all black when i had it.

Nope. I think 2002 was the last season of Russian F3. After that the series have used Lada-based 1600cc engine. I think the class was called Formula Lada for some time and is now known as F1600... how ever in next year they may change the name to F3 Light and will possibly move back to F3 rules in future.

Turkish Formula 3 isn't happening this year. I raced in it in 2003 and it was a nice little championship. Between 11 and 13 cars, mostly 94 Dallara's and a couple of 96 Dallara's. There are 3 perminant circuits in Turkey, Istanbul (GP and a smaller circuit about 2 hours out of Istanbul) and a circuit in Izmir.

They hope to have a championship again next year.

Finnish F3 isn't well-known too... It's a pity.

Well... if you want to know more about it: http://formula3finn.com/index.en.shtml

Sorry for the not-so-perfect English.... I'm not very good in foreign languages

Yeah, I visited that site regularly during the season. I hope they get a nice grid in Finnish F3. 2008 looks promising indeed.

Looks like someone needs to take a weed whacker to those tracks. If you go off they'll have to send a search party out. Check out the gallery pics.

I wouldn't call the Chilean series F3... they have 1,5-litre engines and chassis doesn't seem to fit into F3 rules either.

Alex K has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
Valker your site is really good, and your English is better than mine, and you don't live in the UK for two years.

I spoke about it with some members of Swedish touring car community, because I am a fan of Scandinavian globalisation, want to ask you, what is a chance to build Scandinavian Formula 3 Championship, with weekends sticked to STCC and DTCC with handfull of Finnish races?

I am working for two Swedish drivers, one of them have grown in single-seaters, and to be honest with you Swedish Formula Ford is dead, although I think Scandinavia needs FFord, or FRenault 2.0, or some kind of its equivalent. But I am missing from Scandinavian racing scene is Formula 3. Not so Manufacture pumped up with drivers and engines, but a kind of British National Class, or, even better Spanish Formula 3 Championship. Most of European teams getting rid of 05 generation of Dallaras as we speak, you can with one chassis for years, like Spanish do...

Not a bad idea, innit?

Chilean F3 uses actually chassis used by Argentinian "F4" (Fórmula Renault Argentina and its regional derivates), many of them built by Argentinian chassis makers Crespi and Tito. Peruvian F3 (if it still exists) is on the same league as Chilean F3 regarding chassis used.

Aside Sudam F3, the only other series running in the South Cone of South América is Fórmula Super Mouras, at least because they use effectively F3 cars...
