Oran Park: Statement of penalties issued

Friday July 27

The team managers from the following teams were fined $250 for late arrival at the Team Manager Briefing. Lansvale Smash Repairs, Stone Bros. Racing, and Steve Ellery Racing. The team Manager for Eastern Creek Karts P/L was fined $500 for non-attendance to the Team Managers Briefing.

Saturday July 28

An inquiry was made into an allegation from the Judge of Fact that Gary Holt exceeded the Pit Lane speed limit on four different occasions. He was found guilty of these charges and fined $800.

Michael Donaher was fined $200 for exceeding the Pit Lane speed limit.

Sunday July 29

An inquiry was held into an incident in which three people were injured in Pit Lane, when a gantry from the CAT Racing Team was pulled over after the team's airhose became entangled with the rear wing of Greg Murphy's car whilst it was leaving its pit bay. Following investigation of the incident, the stewards have suggested an investigation into the use of break away air line fittings, as well as an investigation into fixing the air bottles to the stand assembly gantry and the possibility of fixing the entire assembly to a more secure fixing point.

An inquiry was held into an incident involving Greg Murphy, Marcus Ambrose and Mark Larkham at turn 1, lap 1 of Race 1. After investigation, however, it was deemed to be a racing incident and no further action was needed.

An inquiry was held into an allegation that Gary Holt spun his rear wheels while approaching the grid on the parade lap of Race 1, causing concern to grid officials. After investigation, it was found that Gary Holt had breached the careless driving regulation and he was given a severe
reprimand.

Garth Tander was handed a 32 second time penalty to his total race time in Race 2, after an incident with Craig Lowndes at the last corner of the last lap.

How dumb are these team managers ?
Every race meeting there are a few of them who are late to the managers meeting. Dost ask me how they run a team when they cant even make it to the meeting. It must be nice to have money to throw away.

I'll never forget in 98 when Alan Jones paid a years full of fines in advance for missing all of the 'meet the public' press conferences...

Maybe if he went to them, he wouldn't have had to sell all of his stuff the other day
