Lee Purnell should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
I shall be at many more meetings next year

Today is my birthday (happy birthday to me etc) and my parents have done the decent thing and bought me my own little car

Lots of races for me next year then, and not just at Castle Combe

Tell us more about the new brum brum then - size, shape, colour etc. Have you had any mods done on it or is it an auto?

Well, it is an auto, because my stupid decreped left leg doesn't really work.
It is a Pug 205. It's a 1.6, but not a gti. It's blue and it is in very good condition, until I get on the road with it

You'll be fine, just as long as you remember not to drive it the way Craig drives his Peugeot

Well done Lee. Let's hope you can get to one of my events next year. I'll be commuting from the frozen wastes but should make a few outings.

It's a K Reg (1992) and only has 33,000 on the clock. It's not my first choice for a car (Alfa 156) but hey, it's a start

Well done, we all have to start somewhere.

My first was a Triumph Herald. Could turn on a sixpence and accelerate up to sixty (sometimes) in about a day and a half

Whens the first outing ???

Wa-Hey!

Good man, Lee!

A liberating experience, a first car.

Give it a few months, and you'll be able to trade the Pug for a 156 and have change.

Of course Alfas don't depreciate!!

Seriously, congratulations.

My first car was a 1956 DeSoto. It'd be worth a fortune if I still had it.

It'd cost a fortune in parts though.

Hope to see you lots next year.

Congrats Lee & Happy Birth.
I just bought a 1990 33 for 1/7th of its original sale price. 87km, one lady owner, blah blah blah...

As a matter of fact i DO like driving with my knees banging against the steering wheel.

My 1st was a '61 Mini, only a few years newer than Liz's, and I gather she's a genertaion or so ahead of me.
It cost $NZ50, that's $US20, if I still had it, I would have to pay for the privilege of taking it to the dump.

Congrats Lee. I wish I had parents like yours

Just one piece of advice on top of "don't drive like Craig" - DON'T give Craig a lift! He seems to have the irrestible urge of beeping the horn and waving at complete strangers and hurling abuse at others. This usually coincides with Lorny waving her arms around at him yelling stuff in obscene language and telling him to behave himself.

I'm not going to comment, except to say, don't EVER go in a car with Lornykins driving - I made that mistake on Sunday... never again!!

Now there's a challenge. I'll have to take you round MK on a wet day and see if total silence is achievable.
