19dodge should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
002R was always a Konrad chassis, but Konrad helped run the factory team at Le Mans in 2001.

i have not heard anything of a new Saleen model (a new supercar),, coming out

I bet you were a little disappointed when Colin Blower turned up in BGT with a VX220 then! But your right - the name Vauxhall has no place in sportscar racing, they produce boring family cars and stoopid chav-haven material. Having said this now I bet they start on an LMP2!

with regards to a new Saleen, I'd certainly be surprised to see one now - the car is barely 4/5 years old - give it at least a year or two then I think it'll be time. Surely there's life in the S7 yet, particularly if Konrad can get the car competitive again?

Gave up on BGT after 2002 when the big class cars were banned.

I just couldn't bear to watch GT3 class 360's, Morgans, that Clio V6, Lotus...

Even crapper given the noise restrictors, especially on the GT2 996s. Purely personal.

Don't worry about personal - I absolutely agree! I still attend simply because it's GT racing that's passing by fairly locally - and it's one of the few places to see an Ultima these days...

(still remembers '98 snetterton race with a passion - first GT race I ever went to - I still have the program and entry lists!)

they have the new Saleen S7 TT (Twin Turbo), but that has no relation to the race car. it has 750 hp and 2.9 0-60. which makes it faster than the enzo, with out a doubt. its projected to go 260 mph. anyone going to test it, i dont think so, but the race car is a bit out dated, so i would just think the racer Mr. Saleen is, he is designing a new car to compete with the C6-r's and the DBR9's and whatever else is down the road

There was talk of Saleen creating a S7 successor in 2008, but I haven't heard/read anything since.

I think that's the ACO's bg "no no" word - Turbo! With the current rules... well, it would be like having a football kicked very hard at yer balls and then instantly being asked to do the goalkeeping for the next 10 mins... painful to watch, never mind being part of!

yea, i know its not legal to race, but its a interesting note, cause the only thing that changed was the engine with the turbo. the body hasnt changed much. so i think a new one is close.

While I think the turbo car is probably the final iteration, a last great hurrah for the S7, I don't see what about it makes the prospect of a successor more likely. I suppose you could say that it's a development testbed for the new car's motor but that sounds like nothing beyond PURE speculation.
