Steven Guerrero

I've just heard from a friend some very bad news about Steven Guerrero, who raced with T-sport in the National class this season.

"Yesterday night at Colombia, Steven Guerrero had an bike accident that put him on coma. He has multiple injuries and all that we're requesting is that you can pray for him and his wealth recovery."

All I can ask is that you can find a few moments to spare a few thoughts, and prayers if you pray, for Steven and his family as they face this situation.

I will certainly do that, El_Gibleto. Steven is a lovely guy who I'm pleased to call a friend. My thoughts are with him, his wife and family.

Please continue to keep us informed.

See more about Steven here.

On behalf of all of us in NISS and the 10 Tenths forum in general, I'd like to wish Steven and his family all our best wishes.

The link for Steven's own website is http://www.stevenguerrero.us/

You will need to select the English option.

He also a 'supporters' page on Facebook , sorry I can't find the link right now.

I'll make sure that Steven's family know about this thread and the messages of support.

There is a more detailed report here.

From a comment elsewhere by Rodolfo Gonzales, Steven was only on a 125cc bike, but he was not wearing a crash helmet, hence the head injuries. I guess that is standard practice over there, but it makes you think.

This would be bad enough in any case, but what makes it more poignant for me is that although Steven is only 19, he is married with a little baby girl, I'd say about 2 years old. Please keep them in your thoughts everyone.

The latest update is that the doctors are starting to bring Steven out of his coma.

Hopefully that goes well.

I'll update more when I find out.

Latest update on Steven, he's still in a critical condition, but he's stable and the signs are good.

The full message from David Sanchez is below

"Well... last status about Steven's condition is that he's not anymore under inducted coma and he's without drugs. His neurological condition starts to be stable, but he's still with residues of drugs and in the next 48 hours he will be evauated again. His organism would eliminate these residues and that's the reason because in the next 48 hours he will be evaluated. He will not be moved to Bogota or another city because he's under a good medichal staff in Ibague. The brain inflammation reach the maximum and now it is deinflamatting in a good way. He will not take to another brain surgery because he had a good response on the threatment. Last thing is that he's still under critical situation but stable. Thanks everyone for your thoughts and prayers."

David Sanchez is a Mexican photojournalist, and throughly nice person, who has been keeping me, and many others updated on Steven's condition. Without David this thread wouldn't of been possible, so he has a big thank you from me.

Steven is breathing by himself and more important, is not any more in intensive care. Now he's in a normal room at the hospital in Bogota. Thanks everyone and now we're in the final stage of his recovery. Keep praying!!!
