news from kelly country
no not Rick or Todd..im talking about ned kelly country.
the Winton round is nearly on us and there are a few changes afoot for the meeting... Winton motor raceway claim there will be no more of this going on after they have repaired the drain in question which will improve drainage dramatically...we will have to wait and see about that the city of wangaratta are getting behing the event in a big way. businesses are going to stay open 2 hours later on the friday night with a big draw card being displays set up by pepsi racing (Dugal mcDugal) FTR and KMart racing will also have their show cars on display and Jason bargwanna and garth tander will also be present at the local repco store for a bit of a chat. as for the weekend itself there will be plenty of off track entertainment provided as well like country singer james blundell performing several songs for the crowd and will also sing the national anthem before race 1. there will also be hot air ballon rides , an aerobatic display (which I saw last year and it was fantastic ...didnt even notice 20 odd v8's coming past me on the warm up lap i was enjoying the stunt show so much ) there will also be autograph sessions with the V8 drivers as well as the merchandise trucks from all the top teams and heaps of other stuff on and around the circuit. so winton is shaping up to be a fantastic weekend so if your planning a trip to kelly country im sure you wont be dissapointed. check out their website at www.wintonraceway.com.au |

The Roulettes performed at Oran Park when the V8s were there a couple of weeks ago. Halfway through the display the V8s started coming out onto the track for race 1 - all of a sudden no-one was watching the Roulettes anymore.
They were pretty ordinary we all thought... |

if you want to get in for nothing, you can jump the cemetary fence ..... no that wouldnt be good for mr cochrane or the sport, another wicked winton weekend coming up - my guess is that the sky will be blue, there will be the smell of bbq's in the air, the vb and jim beam will flow, the shell chicks will rock , and there might be some v8's racing......

Yeah the bi-plane guy sounds pretty cool but the Roulettes blew big time.
I was waiting for them to play Van Halen's "Dreams" over the PA system when the Roulettes comentary guy was on but they didn't... A fly over by an F-18 would have been better... |
