It looks awesome. I have to get R Factor. My friend has it and well I love the F3 Euro Series and GP2 on it.

That looks awesome. Can someone just clarify for me: Is it out now, is it for PS2?

Group C touring cars? What would that be? To my knowledge, Group C has always been sports prototypes.

The 79 mod is very good. Porsche Carrera Cup, VW Lupo Cup and Renault Megane World Series are also excellent mods, so is the CTPD mod which simulates the 2005 F1 season.

Group 5 cars and a brand new creation of the 70s Le Mans track are gonna be out some time in the future in the GTX5 mod: http://www.virtua-lm.com/

I think it might be something to do with late 80's, early 90's BTCC?

A quick search on google brings up Group C touring cars, some sort of Aussie touring car series I think. Maybe Racer will explain for us?

In any case, it's all sounding rosy for RFactor.

They were pre group-A touring cars in australia. they were designed to be loud and fast and provided good racing. Ironically we then got in line with the group-a thing only to turn back to a "group c" formula with the V8 Supercars.

Sorry for the delay

Yes as mentioned Group C touring cars were Australia's national touring car formula from 1973 until the end of 1984 (originally they were known as Production Touring Cars though). The cars were quite production based, but over time more and more modifications were allowed and the formula, as exciting and popular as it was, had turned into abit of a political farce when it came to homologating parts for the cars, and the international Group A formula was adopted.

Not to hijack the thread, but to give you an idea of the cars that raced but here are some pictures from Group C touring car racing in Australia;
Start of the 1984 Bathurst 1000

John Goss/Tom Walkinshaw Jaguar XJS from Bathurst 1984

Jim Richards/Tony Longhurst BMW 635sci from Bathurst 1984

Peter Brock/Jim Richards Holden Torana A9X from Bathurst 1979

Now, back to Rfactor and the 1979 F1 mod

Also could a mod change the topic title from 1979 season to classic seasons as they seem to be making plenty! LOL thanks.
