Boris Said had a simillar deal last year sponsorship for SOBE for a few Roadcourse racees.
His opinion was It will give me the chance to promote SOBE and find another sponsor for more races.
Not Its only for 2 races.

Unlikley win : Marcus is a top roadcourse driver and can expect to be racing for a win IF Wood Bro give him a crew to do it and the Nascar boys dont touch him up to much !
Difficult yes but not as unlikley as you may think.

Australian Sponsorship : Hard to find but with the way NASCAR arranges sponsor benifits not unlikley.

As for ungodly hours of racing: Most races are showen LIVE into Australia.
Hence the Morning starts.
But Night Races Like Daytona 400 and the Bull ring are showen live from 6am.
That seems good to me.

As for FTA of course its not going to get coverage if there is no Australains but with Marcxxus aboard you will find more FTA news coverage.
Oh you fogot Speenweek RPM etc.

As for Carig Gore Self promotion : Good on him.
This guy has done alot for Australian Motorsport.

And what is the difference in promoting a motorsport show that only is seen in Melbourne.

As pointed out they show races live, and then they replay them oooh about 4 times over the course of the week, normally monday at night and tuesday afternoon, or tuesday night and monday afternoon non of which are "ungodly hours"

True about the firey accident thing, though.

He'll get lots of specialist print media coverage, a bit of normal print media coverage, and Ten will probably talk to him every other week. It's not good, but it's not as bad as you make it.

I can't see any reason why Fox Sports wouldn't be showing the races next year?? They are currently replaying the 2006 season, so they must have some interest in Nascar..

It's not confirmed for FoxSports yet as far as I'm aware...

Fox Sports have been showing the NASCAR and Busch series for several years in Australia and will continue this next year. ALL races are shown live (might be a few Busch expections ). Finally we will get to see Marcos take on the good ol boys (ESPN or Fox used to show the Truck series but they stopped it a couple of years back).

I watch all the NASCAR and Busch races. I don't care what anybody says (and apart from their stupid points system), the racing is great and the road course races are sensational.

I believe that AJ Allmendinger, Jacques Villeneuve and JP Montoya will all be racing Busch and some cup races too so there will be an abundance of interest.

1 :Not all Nextel cup races are live some are Same Day Delayed.
2 :ESPN/ABC will show 17 Nascar races in 2007 and Every Bush race.
3 :Crafstman Tuck's have never been broardcast in Australia either live
or SDD.
4 :AJ Will race full time in Nextel cup with the 84 Red Bull Toyota
JPM Full time in Chips 42 Texaco Dodge
JV may do (But Very Unlikley) Bush Races with a Rousch Suppoeted
team.

The only people who say nascar is boring is coz they have never watched it. theyve only heard that you go around in circles.. but its the best racin ive ever watched.. better then v8's or f1 where youd be lucky to pass 1 car the entire race... go DJ win the championship!!!

Don't know how long you have had pay TV but yes, they have ... along with Sth American F3s and other forms of motorsport as well. It may have been more than 5 years ago, can't quite remember.

Now that Ch 7 has refused AFL to Fox, there will and has been more motorsport on Fox. I like AFL but prefer the cars.

The 1st half of the season (up to the Pepsi 400 at Daytona) was broadcast in the US by FOX, with DW, Larry Mac, and Mike Joy, 2nd half of the season is NBC with BP, Wally Dallenbach and the big hair guy...

Next year is Fox for the 1st half of the season again, then ESPN/ABC for the 2nd half, with Rusty Wallace, Jerry Punch among others commentating. Full Busch series season is on a Disney owned channel I think?

Regardless we will be getting all Busch and Cup races on Foxtel here in Aus, probably more live races with the advent of Fox Sports 3 (though about 75% was live anyway).

All races that ESPN/ABC/Speed show in the USA wiill br broardcasted on ESPN in Australia not Fox Sports.

I was reading Jayski's (www.jayski.com) and, apparently, Marcos Ambose will be brought in for the two road course races, in a Team Australia/Aussie Vineyards Ford Fusion. Number will be 47.

Ummm, no they will not all nascar brodcasting will be shown on Fox Sports.

How do you know that fox sports is definitely gonna show nascar? ive been goin paranoid bout whether it would be on foxtel or not, called foxtel bout a week ago, they said it wasnt in their listings but they would more than likely get it by the start of the season. Not sure though...

good news GO Marcos (seems weird saying this as i didn't like him in V8's due to the car he drove, although he has been driving a Ford in NASCAR i still like him as it is in a different series and there are no holdens in sight.

This isn't Champcar, people watch it. It's been a mainstay of Fox for a while and it'd be pretty strange for them to drop it, let alone show replays of the races this year as "primers" for next season.
