Dessert [iV8SC14R171819] SkyCity Triple Crown, Darwin -20-22 June

Time to go to one of the hottest places in the country... to go motor racing... V8Supercar style...

Will we get another new winner this round? Will some of the old favourites pull their finger out of the proverbial and cross the line in front of their compadres?

Will the Kiwi feud between ex-SBR old boys Mr Van Gisbergen & Mr McLaughlin break out onto the track... the blue Volvo with the missile engine against the might of the Tekno tornado...

Will HRT cook their engine supply, like they did many moons ago...

Will Erebus get their new engines for this round? Timing from the media reports suggests yes.. but you just never know...

Will the Nissan pilots find a new way to have a bad weekend? Or will they find a magic potion to cure what ails 'em?

Will Mr Ingall be a threat in qually then eat the tyres with poor balance the rest of proceedings?

Too many questions, not enough answers, with the racing only a couple of weeks away....

#6 for another win?

I suspect 1, 5, 6, and 888 will be the most competitive, but are likely to trip over one another.

Anyone within cooee of them will fare well.

Ain't that a challenge?

You get moved on from your accommodation at 10am for a midnight-ish flight so where else is there to go but Mitchell Street and the Ducks Nuts...

D6.5 Exceptional Qualifying Circumstances
6.5.1 If, due to exceptional circumstances a qualifying session cannot be completed, the stewards may allocate grid positions according to practice session times or by other criteria.

Im happy with provisional pole

What exceptional circumstances have occurred? Are you saying that there is no qualifying today?

Even if the exceptional circumstances did occur, fastest in practice is no guarantee of pole position - the rule quoted by Peckstar states that clearly - therefore anyone in the field could rightly claim provisional pole at this moment in time.

Sorry Pecky but fastest in a single P session is nowhere near "provisional pole" in any way, shape or form.

Even if the rules you quote were applied, the stewards allocate grid positions and could do so by any criteria that they deem to use - such as championship order for instance.

THE exceptional circumstances would only be if something like cyclone Tracy reappears this morning and wipes out Darwin again and qualifying cant be held, sorry Pecky you lose this argument.

In the same sentance you explain how I'm right and then you conclude I lost.

Provisional pole it is.

The only reason they would use championship order is if there hadn't been a practise

I agree! I came on here to post the same thing. Shockingly boring.

Hidden Valley doesn't appear to be a sprint circuit, at least with the current generation of cars being so closely matched - just no real passing opportunities.

I suggest they should do a 200km race on Saturday and 300km on Sunday. At least the tyre strategy would introduce a little bit more excitement.

The only excitement to come out of either race was GT and Frosty in race one. I enjoyed that. But otherwise it was just another Whincup benefit. Urgh
