Tomorrow the world ... yes the world !!

Here we go:

"I believe we have reached the maturity as a sport and business to make this very important step," Cochrane said yesterday.

"We are at a point in time where it is important for us to build our international presence further and reinforce the significance of our great category within world motorsport."

The announcement coincides with the addition of a third international event at Abu Dhabi's Yas Marina circuit to join the Bahrain International circuit and the Hamilton 400 in New Zealand on the race calendar.

oh my god

The only chance he has of making the sport bigger is to give it the wider American and English audiences, going middle easet / asia isn't going to do it

Knockhill. The most glamourous circuit in the whole of Fife...

V8's would be awsome at Knockhill though

Road America. Or if you want short course, Lime Rock Park Classic would be brilliant.

Ah - the article is about increasing international TV exposure through IMG TV - nothing about any plans for more offshore races (other than Abu Dhabi which we already know about).

Turn the Devo series into the ATCC, and have the V8SC Series as the international example of what we (Aussies) can do.

I for one would love to see our stuff on some Euro circuits with some real racing room!

Road Atlanta (cause i can be there)

Or Laguna Seca. Will be a good match for Bathurst since they are 2/5 best circuits on earth.

According to Grant Denyer on the v8 telecast this morning, v8 drivers are the fastest athletes in the world

Where does this madness end?

A race on Narau would be great. Building borders with the pacific neighbours.

All credit to V8s for their Tasmanian and NT rounds though, it's still a national championship.

Aussie rules is the main football code in Tasmania and the NT, yet no teams in the AFL... instead they want to send new teams to places where no one cares less about AFL!? Sure small memberships from Tassie and the NT would see the teams scrap by on AFL hand-outs, but half the Melbourne teams do anyway, very poor form for the 'national' football competition...

V8 Fireworks, that is a most interesting comment.

Let's consider the significance, and the similarities:

The AFL are blindly charging forward to have a team in Western Sydney, whilst market research indicates it is doomed to fail.

This team will need massive financial support from the AFL for many years to simply survive.

Other teams in the AFL, (some currently struggling) will lose out financially in this deal.

TC, is pinning his hopes on the 'new improved' Grande Finale being successful in Western Sydney, where history has shown that spectators haven’t previously been supportive of the local rounds.

This event is receiving massive financial support from the NSW Government to make it happen, and will need that ongoing support to survive.

Existing circuits (Eastern Creek) will effectively will lose out financially from this event; especially in the mid-term (4-5 years), if the Sydney race fails. (like the Canberra street race did)

.
