there's the Briggs & Stratton Motorplex Karting track, if you consider that a short course....

On pace, I'd guess that these guys will lap Road America in around the same time it takes the GT2s.
Watkins Glen has just the one really heavy braking zone on the short course (into Turn 1). The chicane is still taken at about 95mph, and Turn 6 is pretty close to that as well. Not counting the Esses or subtracting the chicane, the back straight at Watkins Glen is basically half a mile. Each of the three main "straight" at Road America is at least slightly over two thirds of a mile; the start/finish straight is over three quarters of a mile. And with Road America, the corners at the ends of all three are going to be rather slow for the NASCAR machines. I'd say Road America will be as hard on brakes as anywhere they run, even Montreal. |

May be up there with Martinsville for brakes, but at least the straights will give them a rest, martinsville has almost no rest to let them cool even slightly

Hmm... I understand. They could add a chicane with the corner 5 and a zip-back just after it. It wouldn't do much damage, gomick, although they would miss all the fast corners... and their spectator capacity.
