Anyone remember, (still have nightmares about?), Power F1 by Eidos. Absolutely horrible, not so much steering as veering widely around the tracks, which were pretty unrecognisable anyway. A friend lent it to me, I think from installing it to uninstalling it took less than half an hour, can anyone beat that?!

Nicholas should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
I played a demo yesterday, yes the steering is quite weird. But I did recognise the track (well if you've been playing GP1 that's what tends to happen!)

Bad luck for even trying the demo! By not recognising the tracks I meant that after playing GP2 with its wonderful realism, Power F1's 'interpretation' of the circuits suggested that the designers had never been to said circuits. However it was a long time ago, so the old grey cells may be making it worse than it was.

At least there is agreement on the handling.

A while ago I downloaded a game called SB Racing. Based on NASCAR - it is appaling, I should have known that - it only took four seconds to download!

I owned Mille Miglia for the Playstation for an afternoon, and it was easily the worst effort I've ever played. Dreadful.

I've never played any other F1 games so I'm pretty clueless. What did surprise me was that I could drive through Brooklands and Luffield (at Silverstone) flat out, unlike in GP1.

I never got as far as Silverstone! After even struggling to keep on the straights at Hockenheim, I had a quick look at Monaco, decided enough was enough and went back to GP2.

Managed to get a quick go on WRC in Playstation's tent at the show yesterday. Only lasted for about a minute, but it seemed good enough to me?

There`s a game you get on the PS2 demo disc (in Australia) called Wild Wild Racing, it`s a shocker!!!

More like Meak Mild Racing....

Good one Hypo.

The worst racing game i've ever played-
"Formula 1 World Championship 99" for PS1- Horrible, terrible, abysmal. Graphics suck, gaming is horrible, and it was a waste of my money. I went to return it for credit, and when I had paid something like $15 for it, I got $5 in credit!

Gas Man- I agree, Mario Kart was definetly one of my favorite games of all time, both on Super Nintendo and N64.

There was a Le Mans game I bought for PS2 (made by Infogrames, I think) and it was horrible. Physics, graphics, and lack of overall realism just turned me off.

It takes time for you to get used to the LeMans game actually. Initially it feels and seems disappointing. In actual fact though it does it's job quite well. Reasonable car models, nice graphics, excellent weather effects adn light to night transitions. Besides, it's one of the only game sout with proper sportscar racing at the moment for a console.

lol, now that is a game that can qualify for sure. Roughly a 1:10 for the LeMans circuit when it usually takes 3:30. I still stand by my SCGT on PSOne vote.
