British Sprint Round - Colerne - Bank Holiday Monday

In a thrilling run-off Roy Dawson, who had dominated the qualifying, had to fight back to take his maiden championship victory. The Gould-Judd driver still needs to continue to develop the ex-le Maitre car to get it more conducive to sprinting.
Tony Eyles took a well earned second place and in doing so clinched the 2005 SBD Motorsport British Sprint Championship. The Force driver had moved into the lead but second place was good enough in the final analysis. This is Tony's fourth championship and ranks him alongside Dave Harris and Chris Hill as the only four times champions.
Tony Wiltshire's third place was just not enough to keep his championship hopes alive. The Newton Abbot Express was natuarally disappointed and I suspect will not contest either of the remaining two rounds.
Kevin Lealan's fourth place was a career best and has moved him up the rankings.

Championship Positions:

1 Tony Eyles 113pts - 2005 Champion
2 Tony Wiltshire 99pts
3 Terry Holmes 67pts
4 Andrew Platt 64pts
5 Roy Dawson 58pts
6 John Sampson 49pts
7 Simon Ashby 48pts
8 Kevin Lealan 43pts
9 Steve Broughton 42pts
10 Stephen Miles 39pts
11 Rodney Eyles 37pts
12 Stewart Robb 35pts
etc

Why do people always wonder why it is windy and cold at airfield venues?

After all if it was not windy they wouldn't build an airfield there!

However it was very pleasant. I noticed several people slapping on the sun cream and a few more hats were in evidence amongst the follically challenged.

Certainly we enjoyed better weather than the BTCC crew at KNOCKHILL!

THR has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
colerne is a brill place!!!
my first and only (so far) sprint there....

where else can u spin at 90mph go round twice and not hit anything????? (my fault)

not sure wot the corner was called, but long straight... nearly flat, right, then a 3rd gear left, and over a brow of the runway, stood on brakes and roundabout time. dont marshalls move quick?

They usually do when low flying sprinters are about!

The corner is delightfully named TURN 4

You know what they say about Knockhill?

If you can see Knock Hill it's going to rain.

If you can't see Knock Hill it's raining!!!
