Shouldn't this be in National and International single-seaters?

Anyway, whats happened with Oli Jarvis? He has gone from hero to zero, whilst Mcintosh has shot into prominance. They are both level pegging now if you take the 3 dropped scores into consideration. Im gonna go for Mcintosh to be champion now, as he is showing the form that many expected of him before the season started. Also, when is Jakes going to win a race lol!?

Oli seemed to be trying too hard at Snetterton - I don't know if it was the pressure of being at his home circuit, but he reminded me more of the nervous Oli I met in Formula Ford two or three years ago than the confident young man we have seen so far this season.

I am more surprised with yesterday. The team obviously had a good wet set-up looking at how well Frankie did. Maybe the pressure is getting to him?

Much as I like Oli, I predicted McIntosh would win at the start of the season. I'm still confident with that prediction. Either one will be a worthy champion though, because this is one of the strongest F Renault seasons we've had for a long time.

Are big pile ups great?

I don't think so.

I prefer watching good racing battles - of which there were plenty at Knockhill.

I think everyone predicted McIntosh would win, including me! But yes, whoever is champion this year will thoroughly deserve it. FRenault is always ultra-competitve and this year it seems even more so compared to the last few years (maybe not 2003). There are 10 guys who could be in with a serious chance of winning races. Im surprised there has only been 5 winners this year, we are still waiting for wins from Jakes, Simpson, Hohental, Hall etc, all of those are very good drivers IMO.

It looks like Simpson has already left for bigger things...

And I'd say 2004 was just as bad as 2003.

Yes looks like he'll be Tomas Schekter's back up man in A1GP - or even the full time driver

I wouln't actually label the 2004 season as bad, or 2003, but yes as you say this year is one of the best in terms of its strength.

So he has left FRenault? I knew it was on the cards for him to do A1GP, but I thought it was likely to be Schekter and Van Der Merwe.

VdM seems to have been snubbed by the SA team - looks like Scheckter and Simpson will split the racing.

So will he continue with FRenault or not? And aslo, why would the SA team snubb VDM?! He is a fine driver, and can keep it on the road unlike Scheckter!

Maybe VdM couldn't find the budget?

Simpson didn't do F Renault at Knockhill, but don't know whether he will be back for the next round or not.

I don't think Jody Firth was missing because of going to A1GP though...

Actually, with Firth and Simpson missing, as well as Daniel Welch and Jeremy Metcalfe from Welch Motorsport, there was only a field of 22 cars at Knockhill. That is the lowest it has been for some time, and the first time FBMW had more cars on the grid than FRenault. This year is strong as mentioned before, but in 2004, the lowest grid number if I remember correctly was 28, and the highest 32 or thereabouts.

There was A1GP testing at Paul Ricard until Friday, so he would have missed the F Renault practice sessions at Knockhill the same day.
