lockwood's name would've found it's way on to the list if it was for CC
so how many CC cars will be racing in the NZV8 nextweek? or are all the NZV8 cars meant to top up the CC class now the ST season has started? |

Hi guys, I'm running in one of the support classes and understand that there are 3 support classes, Mainland Saloons, Mixed Saloons and Rennsport. The plan seems to be to blend the high profile of the V8 Supertourers with a good local mix of us amateurs.
I'm unsure of the difference between the two saloon classes but Rennsport is the all-comers German class with everything from GT3's to the BMW E30 cars. Rennsport has 35 entries, which I imagine would be the largest register field seen in the South Island for a while. There is testing / practice on the Thursday but although the park will be open, the circuit will be closed on Good Friday. |

So how many rounds are the challenge cup, I can imagine due to cost North Island rounds would make sense.

Interesting.
I wonder if the scoop will have the opening facing forward or rearward? And if it will be open or baffeled? As there has been quite a bit of debate over bonnet vents etc is the south island lately. |

more to the point, do the car owners have to pay for the scoop to be added, or are the series owners fronting up because they never tested the car under race conditions in their bid to create a sellable item??

Only ST would release a press release, turning a c**k up with the car into something else.... Ooooo the cars getting a bonnet vent.
Next thing we'll be hearing they are beefing up the axles and drive flanges so they can do standing starts..... |

Hi DX20VT. re bonnet vents, I had had to check on it myself recently and here is the relevent section from Schedule A
(iii) Have any rear facing vents baffled to prevent escaping fluids, except when fitted by the manufacturer as part of the original vehicle specification. I guess that cars fitted with rear facing vents as origonal equipment don't blow up engines or damage cooling systems and that no water or oil will escape up onto the windscreen |
