I think you've found a great solution for overcoming boring looking surroundings on these new tracks - Polystyrene props!!!

As funny as that sounds I think it would work. Or just a close polystyrene barrier with some sort of penatly for going though. Really though, with all these 'safer barriers', I don't see why they can't be a few meters from the track with only grass separting them.

There cannot be a balance between safety and good looking tracks. Safety can never be compromised for the sake of viewer excitement. Safety is the single most important factor and will always have the final say.

So why do so many actually die in motor racing if safety is always most important. If there can't be any balance between safety and another thing one would expect safety to be complete and dying during a race impossible other than through natural causes. A balance between the two has already been made.

Yet somehow the safety argument can be convieniently forgotten about at Monaco and places like Interlagos (curving pit straight).
