PabloTeK should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid

What's with all the concrete walls? Are they there to hinder any invasion attempt by North Korea?

I noticed that, I assume there will be fullly-kitted recovery vehicles? Doesn't look like there are many (if any) marshals points...

From Turn 12 around to Turn 3 will be effectively a street circuit section once the area is developed. That's why the walls are so close in those areas. In theory, there are to be other streets intermingled between the entry of Turn 12 and the exit of Turn 19, as well as along about the second half of the straight from Turn 2 to 3. The idea, at least from some of the simulations, is to eventually have a high-rise, commercial district through which the street circuit section of the course will pass.

Yeah I thought that as well. I mean they are forever going on about safety in F1 nowadays and they design a new track with concrete walls near to the track and also the crash barriers as well.

I think they will be ready, even if the paint is still drying on Friday morning.

Yeah they said on the BBC F1 programme that it would be ready to race on, but parts of the circuit (grandstands and so on) wouldn't be quite up to scratch.

Who needs spectators?!

As long as the VIP areas are all ready with their pristine marble floors, gold taps and velvet toilet paper, who cares about the real fans?!

As far as I know CAMS (the Australian sanctioning authority for motorsport) have the contract to provide marshals, and training for local recruits, to Korea.

Link

Apparently also the local authority have 1600 applications from locals to marshal at the event.

Looks like it will be a pretty standard first-time event (like Singapore, which CAMS covered, and Abu Dhabi, which BARC covered but not this year) in terms of "bring in outside help".

It remains to be seen whether those keen Aussies end up going at all though...
