Is Panoz factory going to be racing the GTR1 for 2004?

Sounds like it to me. You be the judge.

M.com: Where are you headed with the GTR1?

DP: With the GTR1, I want to show that the car has grown considerably as a result of the development of the LMP 900. I want to show that this car can be extremely competitive and it could be a good type of car for some competitors or privateers who want to race at the top.

As far as I can make up from this article, he's specifically talking about ALMS, not LMES or LM. Am I correct? Let's hope I'm wrong, because I really like to see a Panoz at LM again (or Spa or Nurburgring).

There will be at least a Panoz GTR-1 at Le Mans. If not, they should not had come at the 1000kms of last november.

Panoz, after the LM 1000K, said that he wanted to sell/loan the cars to customer teams. DAMS were apparently interested.

I wonder how close, in design terms, the new Panoz GTS car car will be?

Question:

In either the LMES thrread otr the LM Entry Thread, I thought DAMS was one of the operations that was looking at running in GTS class and was looking at running one of the Ferrari models (550 or 575)...

Can someone clarify this for me????

I would think that the same "privateer" that ran the LMP01's last year would be the prime candidate to run the Panoz GT1 as an LMP1...

weren't they called "JML" but they are based out of Brazelton and had connections in some way with the Panoz factory efforts before they became the "private" operation to race the LMP 900s last year...

The DAMS team were interested in the Panoz before any GTS deal was on the table.

At the moment it appears to be between Dams and Labre who will win the Care 550 deal for the LMES.

John McGloughlan was the man in charge of that opperation . However , just before Sebring last year he suffered a heartattack and Im not sure that he ever recovered from that . I think last years deal had already been put together so they just carried on that way . I didnt hear that he was back on the scene , shame !!!

I thought the new car from Panoz was a GT class car, going up against the Ferrari 360's and Porsche 911 GT3 (R,RS,RSR)'s? No?

So....

DSC reports that Larbre will be running the Panoz GT1 (I believe they call it the LMP1 or a GTP, or did at LM 1000k, due to aero changes to make it conform to more current regs...please verify) at Sebring and LM???

Just wnat to make sure I understand this.....

The quote above says Larbre "might be running one" and I don't know for sure what the "one" actually refers to...

Just want to make sure so that I don't reamin a "Clueless Wonder..."

Thanks!

So....

To re-ask it....

Is this car that ran at the LM 1000K the car that Larbre might run at Sebring and LM???

I got kinda lost in the third person references up there....I thought Larbre was looking at competing with something else, like a ferrari in GTS....

Please straighten me out on this one so I am clear as to what is going on...

Thanks!

This weeks Motorsport news newspaper reports that Labre competition will field a single Ferrari 550 in the LMES this year, Christophe Bouchet is in the frame for one of the seats.
