Sponsorship book

Hey, new user, regular reader. I know it seems like shameless plugging, but we've all been there trying to raise/save/scrounge money, and despite having just hung up the crash helmet (babies are darn expensive!!), I still feel the need to raise cash. I have a mint 1st (and only) edition of the Guy Edwards book "Sponsorship and the world of motor racing". It's very rare, having done my research on the web; there's a copy on amazon.com in the us for $768. It is THE sponsorship book by general consensus it seems. I've got it listed on ebay for £350 start or £400 buy it now. If you're interested the ref is : 320431252482 on ebay.co.uk.

400 quid for a 2nd hand book!! thats the way to raise sponsorship money. Can you imagine how many bootlegs would be out there if it was worth that sort of money, sales of the book probably sponsored his racing.

Beat you!!!

0 bids. Is anyone so desperate to learn how to get sponsorship from a thin pamphlet that costs hundreds of pounds? You have to speculate to accumulate (they claim), but it's a lot of money for a very thin book from nigh on twenty years ago. The financial market (and the motorsport scene) have changed quite a bit in that time.

It is probably rarish rather than very rare. Due to the downturn in the economy and the fact that we're all suffering with empty wallet syndrome I'm willing to let my copy go for the bargain price of just £250!!!

Tristan, mine is not a thin pamphlet but a giant "coffee table" tome of 450 pages plus a cardboard box to keep it nice.

But on the listing picture, it looks like it's about 10 pages thick?

Besides, £250 can buy a lot of persuasive meals for potential sponsors, so I'll keep the money for now and spend it on something that might be applicable in this day and age - for example, the Carroll Smith books.

The Guy Edwards book is really quite good and written by someone who has been there and done it quite well. There is heaps of good info in there and gives you a good grounding to get started and then use your creativity beyond that. I'm sure the book could be updated but some of the principles don't change.

And no it's not a little pamplet but a heavy coffee table sized book.

£250 would also enable the Bank Of Nigeria to release the inheritance money of one of my long lost relatives.

If it does I've never seen it.

It is quite extensive, straightforward and focuses on the motorsport aspect.

Well it weighs a couple of pounds so it's no tiny brochure.

Why does the photo on eBay make it look so thin and weedy then? That's all I'm basing my assumption that it's a pamphlet on

Looks like it's just the book cover. I can assure you it's no pamphlet. I'd have to dig mine out to get the page count but it's a sizable book that weighs a couple of pounds.

If you advertise something on Ebay with a photo surely its prudent to show the whole thing not an outer cover!
