He confirmed that he won't take on Super GT this year because he will be focusing on preparing & winning 24 Hours of Le Mans. Some Super GT schedules clash with WEC calendar including the testing. The prediction that Yuichi Nakayama will take his seat on SARD goes on the right track so far.

Thanks for the info. Also to mention that the whole Super GT schedule clashes with F1 races, with the exception of Round 2.

Will also enter Super Taikyu with a single car, and the Suzuka 10hrs with 2 cars

That means Alex Palou will tackle Super Formula, Super GT, Super Taikyu (with teammates Sena Sakaguchi & Takayuki Kinoshta) and also potentially Suzuka 10 Hours at one season.

CarGuy announce the withdrawal from GTE/SGT.
Kimura says that if there is another opportunity they will also consider participating in GT500 by Pro-Pro lineup.

I like the throwback idea, but that livery is prettty bland and doesn't do the car's lines justice. Maybe it'll look slightly different come race day.

I've been told that Toyota's announcement of teams/drivers will happen on 7 February. Apparently this was mentioned at a talk show at TAS - must have missed it! >_<

SGT 2019 regulations briefing session was held.
As part of working way reform,
pit work will be prohibited from 20 o'clock after the end of the car scrutineering day to 6 o'clock of qualifying day, from 19 o'clock of qualifying day to 7 o'clock of the finals day.
However, regarding this season, it is non-binding obligation.

Grouping qualifying session is held at Okayama and SUGO this season.

This looks to me as if the whole idea of yearly joint races is already over before it started. This seems to have turned into a half-hearted idea. I don't mind though, even though I am German, I prefer Super GT to stay independent - this convergence is taking away what made Super GT so exciting in the first place

Changes on management of Team Cerumo :

Longtime Cerumo president Masayuki Sato retired, and replaced by Haruhisa Urabe (CEO of Urabe Group. Urabe Group is also the parent company of INGING, Cerumo, Toyota Corolla Yamaguchi dealership network & other several Toyota dealership networks)

Directors :
- Shigeaki Kishigami
- Junichi Murata
- Hiroaki Ishiura (he will have this position while racing at Super GT & Super Formula with the team)

Hirohide Hamashima is said to be retired as well.

GT300 qualifying format is slightly revised, top 16 positions from Q1 (previously top 14) now can advance to Q2. Applied from 2019 first race.
