The word "Farce" has been brought up in commentary. Spot on.

Only needs 2 more laps for a points finish...
Go start up the Porsche...

Meantime, when is Dunlop going to recommend/demand/supply a soft monsoon wet ?

Not wet enough for drivers to drive flat out trying to catch the Safety Car train, but too wet to race?

The red flag gods were definitely smiling on Roland's boys today. Car #1 out with no points, car #888 looking down the barrel of multiple drive thru's and #97 likely to have a bigger points deficit to #17 by race end.

Best part of the entire telecast was the "Helmet Cam" for the mechanic during the red flag period that included him looking into a tool bag and ask ing "Where the @#@uck is every F*&(&ing thing".... Best TV in ages

Does this mean Anton De Pasquale is now a race winner?

Or is it Heimgartner and Russell, being the first to have had both drivers in the car?

If no, how is today any different to Symmons Plains last year?

Asked because SVG "won" a race that was canned.

However, difference may have been that on that day they still saw a chequered flag, albeit only after 4 of 50 laps.

As SvG said afterwards, they ( Cams / stewards etc ) knew what the weather forecast was, so why didn't they start the race earlier so they'd have at least some chance of completing it?? Schedule the ECB ****-utes after the main race, no one would care if that got rained out. But no they are far too rigid and tunnel-vision, and they ended up screwing themselves, and the punters who paid $$$ to get there / get in the gate / accommodation / etc. But don't worry because when they release the "official" spectator numbers, it'll be another new record attendance. CAMS and the Stewards are the ones who should be charged with bringing the sport into disrepute..................

Apparently SVG was also going crook about people not getting out of his way - what a tool - race you idiot, that is what you are meant to do - what sort of race would it be if everyone got out of your way

Not sure those who've invested heavily into the Superutes would appreciate being shafted out of a race.

Agree.

But what was the gap between the finish of the last support race and the start of the Supercar race?

NASCAR have brought forward start times on a number of occasions to avoid inclement weather.

Well put it this way then - if it wasn't for Supercars, there would be no need for some sideshow ute class. Also doesn't work the other way around ( Supercars being a sideshow and the Utes being the main show ).

Also, the organisers need to make the whole show the most attractive they can, because if no one watches onTV or turns up at the venue, no one will sponsor anything to do with it because they'll get no value, and the whole show folds. So if once in a blue moon you have to adjust the program order to account for some abnormality, and the least popular class has to take one for the show, then so be it. If the ute guys don't like that, there are plenty of other support classes they are free to put their money into.

The whole thing was a total cock-show which was completely avoidable with a bit of fore-thought and lateral thinking.

It's the luck of the draw with the weather.

It just didn't work in favour of the maingame yesterday.

All yesterday proved was that Supercars doesn't have proper fall-back options in place still. Yeah, they totally should have cut back all the fanfare and shuffled the schedule to bring the racing forward. But no, I don't agree that they should chop races altogether out. Shorten them perhaps, but not simply dump them.

I didn't say anything about shafting people out of a race, or chopping races, I said if the weather looks doubtful, maybe change the program order and give a better chance of getting through the big ticket ( the ones that bring in the money and punters and TV deals ) races. Hell run it before lunch and all the supports after lunch if they need to.

Pretty sure they moved the Indy race at one time to an earlier slot after the 2002 debacle.

That's complete bulls**t, and you know it. Everyone had access to the weather forecast and weather radar, so you can't say it was a surprise that the heavens' opened.
