Mike Kelly 1 should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
I met Richard at Snetterton a couple of years ago when he was filming a piece about racing a Rover SD1 in a classic touring car race. He spent quite some time talking to me during the lunch break and asked how his driving looked from a marshals point of view. A thoroughly nice guy. I hope he recovers from his injuries very soon.

I saw that too, and its being reported on the news tv stations. Fingers crossed hopefully Richard will be ok and make a full recovery from whatever injuries he may have.

I was only watching Top Gear a few hours ago! A top bloke, my thoughts are with him, his family and colleagues.

However the BBC are reporting that he was unconcious when he was extracted (I assume he was as they are also reporting he was trapped in the car) and taken to hospital.

He is said to be critical and was taken to the neurological ward of Leeds infirmary, which was further away from the incident than other hospital. This suggests he has some pretty serious head injuries.

Gosh, awful news. I've just heard on BBC News 24 he was airlifted to hospital - not sure this is good news. Let's hope for a speedy and full recovery, Top Gear wouldn't be the same without him

Firstly, Best wishes to Richard and family, I really hope he pulls through this.

Secondly, Comments by the 'witness' are Heresay and should not be commented as Fact. As for RH speaking, I don't imagine what was said was coherent. It's not the speed of the accident, but how rast you stop. At present it would be wrong to second guess what has happened, this won't help anyone, least of all The Hamster.
