Could we have an actual career?
It would be great if sony included GP2, Porsche Supercup and all other support races for their next F1 game so that players can have a career where you start in one off races like FBMW at bahrain or indy (if indy is on the calendar that is) and work your way up to porsche supercup and then GP2 and finaly get a job in F1.

Yeah, that would be quite fun. Especially if you started in karting even on tracks like Buckmore etc
|

You could probably do something like this for rFactor, if someone is willing to put the time in of course.

V8 Supercars/TOCA Race Driver 3 is going to have a career mode a bit like this. Apparently you choose a discipline (openwheel, sportscar etc) and progress along the path. Includes carts, and a much more F1-like wings&slicks Grand Prix category, as they have involvement from Williams.

Its certainly a nice idea. I'd prefer the ladder going back to the 80s - say karting, then FF1600, FF2000, F3, (maybe) F3000 and finally, the pinnacle of the lot, Mini 7s.......

Yes Ayse all that close racing and overtaking the real pinnacle of your career.

A lot of the junior formula on the afformentioned "ladder" may be out for F1C (then converted to rFactor?) soon enough AFAIK.
Karts (WIP) FF1600 (WIP) FRenault F3 (WIP, rFactor only) GP2 (WIP) F1 But sadly obviously with F1C you can't link them. I think most sim racers have dreamed of ladder implementation (partially fictitious TOCA RD aside), so if it could happen for rFactor, that would rock! |

It'd be great, but sadly it'd be a short career path if it was based on modern day motorsport:
Karts. Formula 3. Straight to F1. Retire. But seriously, I'd love a game like this. ToCA Race Driver 3 supposedly has a good career mode, but let's face it: it'll be crap. |
