Alternatively if they offered enough (cough cough)- room could be made for them . Be like another era when support categories were wanted and not considered a cash cow to bleed ! Is this another link in the wheel turning? |

TC keeps denying it but the rumours keep surfacing so I don't know who to believe at the moment. Winton has a VMRC round scheduled for the Bahrain weekend so considering none of the regular supports would've made the trek to the Middle East it's a chance for some club level classes to get some exposure to the V8 on track crowds, I don't think Ch7 would show them unless there's a good crash of course |

Hmm, going by past VMRC rounds, supports would be something like Super TT, FVee, maybe HQ's, even Futureracers (throws cat among pigoens ) |

Isn't it amazing with the "incredible" deals we are always hearing about from our friends in Nerang House, that they could manage to take what was such an incredible sanction fee spinner and turn it into the undecided mess that the Bahrain round is at the moment.
It is only in the interest of V8's to do a double header of Bahrain with Abu Dhabi, it lowers the freight costs through sharing of expenses for them, but lets face it, we aren't dealing with poor countries here...Ab Dab have invested (US) 700 MILLION on their circuit and surrounds, Bahrain over 200 million, a hundred grand in freight won't even dent their budgets. What has happened here is that the middle easterns didn't become that rich from being stupid - and this is the realisation that is hitting home with regard to these events. Stay tuned, there are more swings to go in this golf match and the guy with the driver is no tiger woods...be assured of that. Three trips so far and still no resolution - they must be praising the FIA for taking so long to get a F1 calendar out so that excuse can be rolled out each time everyone asks what the hec is going on! |

There appears to be considerable dissent amongst the key players (race teams) against the Black Wiggle's plans for world domination !!! More than one Victorian based team is alleged to have made murmurings about a preference to race in Australia, instead of racing in Bah-humbug,( sorry Bahrain.) |

Eastern Creek would be a better alternative over Winton.

It is an unwritten rule that a first-class championship such as V8 Supercars should not attend a race circuit twice in the one year.
Also, I believe that Eastern Creek is a better spectator circuit than Winton, although I've only been there once. In theory, isit possible that V8SA could drop this event and only run 12 instead of 13 this year? Better for the smaller teams as well as they would then have a slightly bigger budget for next year. |

so would you run a race at EC, then two weeks latter the big main event at homebush?
Better check the unwritten rule on that one oh and the only reason that EC is a better spectator circuit is that is closer to a major city and it has a grand stand. Its viewing in inferior |

I am kinda hoping Winton is on... it is good to seee the whole circuit.. and the crowd is usually ok. Not sure how the city of Benalla will cope with zero notice though! |

Trouble is EC is just up the road from the Homebush event and even VE$A isn't silly enough to run two events that close together geographically & time wise.
How is EC a better spectator track?? At Winton you can see pretty much all of the track but at EC you cant see too much without reverting to the big screens. EDIT: Don't you hate it when peckstar beats you to it with the same comments. Last edited by PVDA; 19 Aug 2009 at 10:49. Reason: Beaten by Peckstar......... |

They used to run the Amaroo & Oran Park ATCC rounds a week apart
The track will still be running into December, amongst other events there is a 6hr motorcycle race running in late November |

Maybe the date with Eastern Creek/Homebush is a little close, but I still think Eastern Creek is a better option - it also offers Queensland and Victorian teams a fair travelling distance to travel for an event of the championship which shouldn't even be in Australia. As far as Eastern Creek's viewing areas being inferior, well, get back to me after the Homebush race is run and let me know which circuit offers more "inferior" viewing options. |

Then again if it ran at Winton it would put the Queensland Teams closer to the next roundat Barbagallo in WA!

Wakefield's facilities would handle it, the traffic is the problem. At Winton we could run a round with a week's notice if we had too. Would be a big week, but we car do it.
The other question to ask yourselves is do these tracks want the round?? |
