British Grand Prix 2018: Grand Prix Weekend Thread
One of the highlights of the season, the super-fast circuit of Silverstone plays host to the race that began the world championship in 1950.

Is there anywhere online to see live timing or results from the support races? I would like to follow the Masters F1.

Mercedes fastest to begin with. Grosjean gets caught out by the bumps at turn one. Few offs here and there on this challenging track

Was it the bumps or the bumps and he didn't get the DRS closed? I've seen 2 reports saying he likely missed the DRS close and snap went the rear at turn in.

As they said on the C4 coverage why push to the limit in FP1? He should have been closing it a bit earlier. It's not like it was the first lap and he didn't know about the bumps. |

The British GP marks the end of the first half of the season and it's nicely poised with Vettee's one point lead over Lulu. If FP2 is anything to go by, it looks like Ferrari have the edge over Mercedes.
I see Grosjean is true to form after Austria. |

Grosjean...how predictable. Surely he's going to destroy a second tub this weekend...

For me, even more than the crashing itself, I can't stand the lack of ownership. If you tell the truth, I will give you a pat on the back and words of encouragement. That's something we all understand.

Not usual you see an F1 car hit a barrier just after Luffield, but somehow Max managed it

I sit down with a cuppa to watch Hartley and he crashes.

The track seems to be much more bumpier than last year. Apparently, the track surface was re-laid to a tolerance of 3mm.
Silverstone MD Stuart Pringle: "The asphalt mix is state-of-the-art. It's been laid to extremely fine tolerances, much finer than on the public highway, that are not easily achieved by most people in that business." Umm.. yeah. Ok. |

Hartley should have taken that Indycar deal. He could have driven a Honda that's actually competitive in a series where more than four cars are capable of being realistic title contenders.

Leclerc continuing to impress on a day when Williams would have been better not turning up......

So Lulu's on pole, followed by Vettee, Kimi and Valteri. Max and Ricci are 5th and 6th.
