Thanks for those Sauber. Were the track conditions on there anywhere? And yep, not even skipping a beat on those tires...hmm.

In that first session, Bottas and Bianchi were fastest until about ten minutes from the end and then first Ricciardo and then VDZ pulled the pin.

Q1 was red-flagged with only 10 drivers having set times at that point, but is under way again now. Chilton was leading from Major and Boyd then.

Frantic dash now under way. Officially, the 30 minutes are up.

Phew, everyone recorded a time in the end, but some were very slow. Moral: it's not always smart to wait in your garage until the second half of the session.

Van der Zande on pole from Chilton, Bianchi, Ricciardo and, I think, Bottas - the screen has just gone blank ready for the next session. More later.

N.A-D.R should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Bianchi won with Gutierrez 2nd and Ricciardo 3rd who finished infront of Van der Zande by 0.008, he slip-streamed Zande to the line and it seems he got him by 0.008!!! So that means Ricciardo 1st and Zande second! and Grubmuller finishes 12th and out of the points, very good for Daniel's championship!

Gooo Ricciardo!

Race 1 has been run and looks to have been absolute stormer.

Van der Zande led most of the way under intense pressure from the ART Grand Prix pair of Bianchi and Gutierrez.

As far as I can tell from Live Timing, the ART pair got ahead right ahead at the end and so did Ricciardo, which, I think, will have secured the title for him as Grubmuller was not in the points.

The screen has unhelpfully moved on to the next race now, so I'm right out of information, but more later.

Daniel Mckenzie won the National class for Fortec, which I think makes him national class champion, and would give Fortec their first national class champion at thier first attempt.

Well done to Dan, Duncan, John and Ben for their good work.

Go Daniel - will Renger give up P2 in the championship now to Walter?
I'm not sure about this, but I think Renger has now overtaken Walter and moved to P2 in the championship.

Yes, well done to Daniel McKenzie and Fortec on winning the National Class, but, to be completely honest, it's been very weak this year, which is disappointing.

The results are here.

N.A-D.R should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Daniel Ricciardo now has a 57 points gap to p2 in the championship Van der Zande, so pretty much has won it. But it's still mathematically possible for zande to win, but Daniel only needs about 7th (if zande wins race 2). and for race 2 ricciardo starts 2nd with zande about 8th or so, so it's basically won for Ricciardo! Bring it home mate!

Race report here. Van der Zande had picked up a slow puncture from debris dropped by the third ART car, so it was clearly a massive conspiracy! I thought there must have been something like that, because normally he is very good at keeping people behind him.

Exactly why has BF3 been "very weak this year ..."?

Not BF3, just the National Class. Sorry, but that's my opinion.

Bianchi wins race 2 from Bird etc. Again, more later.

Strange race again from van der Zande. He was 2nd for most of the time, but dropped like a stone towards the the end.

Race 2 results.
