Historic Monaco

Just got back from Pau, following on from Monaco.
Monaco was really fantastic from the word go, and if I am allowed to blow my own trumpet a little, I was really chuffed with myself following first qualifying. Things were a little more hectic in the afternoon, and yes I did go straight on at St. Devote (twice!)- it's one place where you can really push as there is some run-off (the other places being into Casino Square and exiting the tunnel). The race didn't go quite as planned as the car devloped a mysterious misfire which also dogged us at Pau, so we didn't really perform as well as we hoped. All I can say though is- FANTASTIC! I thought the dice in the pre-'61 race was the highlight of the meeting. Willie Green told me that he braked "to avoid the bits" when he saw Martin going round the outside of Bscher into Casino Square. One of my crew blagged Stirling Moss into satnding by the car when I was in the assembly area pre-race...if the photos come out I'll post them here. Pau was pretty good as well, ther is a little less bull**** than Monaco and the circuit is great to drive in the dry.
