They both run on Michelin tyres.

Valve Bounce has been held in scrutiny for further testing
Michelin has to produce a tyre that will work well for both chassis.

freud has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
To be honest, Mclaren and Williams are collaborating with each other since past 5 years to defeat Ferrari and Michael Schumacher. I am sure they will get closer to Ferrari by the end of the season and next year, as Michelin improve their performace, we will see a fight between the Mc/williams & the Ferrari/Schum teams. I hope a close fight does take place next season because if the Maestro gets a car even equal to Mclaren and Williams next season, he will walk away with the 6th title. There is just no driver of his calibre in the pack.

Had me going for a while. For some unexplained reason, I was thinking--has McDonalds stepped up to sponsor the Williams team??

Made me think of the Irish bike racer Jeremy McWilliams in fact. Good plan, but what will happen if ferrari decline in 2005? The gloves will certainly be off, unless we get races where the front FOUR is pre-arranged.

Ya....I thought it is about Jeremy too. I think they're only going to share very little thing. They are not stupid, what if Mc or Will dominating the scene, is it another one of them will work with Ferrari? I don't think so.

McLaren and Williams have been close for a long time, not really a surprise.

...the day Frank told Ron not to hold back JV's chance of WDC in exchange for a Mclaren 1-2 in 97? Yeah...5 years..you got it there. *kidding*

It's good to a certain extent.....as it increases competition...but hopefully it won't compromise the competition between BMW and Mercedes...

Exactly what i had in mind... BMW and Mercedes are one of the strongest rivalry in the auto world...you'd guess they are reluctant to see their respective F1 teams being goody good mates! Ironical isn't it? I prefer BMW's to Mercedes, hence, its really hard for me to see how "lacking" Head's product is working.

By the way (slightly off topic), its kind of strange how VW-group is planning to assault the auto world in the luxury car category? They want VW (phaeton) to rival Mercedes (S-class) in the future, and pit the more prestigious Audi brand to fight BMW... kind of a slap in the face for Mercedes to actually be targetted by "the people's car".
