Indeed very interesting, perhaps he is pondering a switch to sportscars in the not too distant future in the Ferrari LMP?

Here's a video I shot of the start of the Petit Le Mans 2010 from turn 6 using my Apple iPod Nano safely positioned behind the wall. I mastered the video into slow motion and you can see and hear the field come through. The Peugeot and Audi cars sound like missiles coming by. Interesting watching the cars lift their right rear wheels as they go through the turn.

Since I didn't have the biggest glass in town, I decided to use the smallest and this is the result.

We had a discussion earlier about the ability of the Peugeot's incredible cornering ability. Here's a shot, I know the resolution is not that good, but it shows the 908 in a tight corner. The front right wheel and tire appear to be leaning into the curve even though the turn is a tight turn to the opposite g-forces. The right rear wheel tire seems to be almost flying off the wheel while the front clinches grip and the rear seems to be flinging around.

The first year the 908's raced at Road Atlanta, it seemed the cockpit door was a bit flimsy and allowed the driver's head and helmet to lean outside the cockpit a bit in a tight turn. Here, you can barely make out the driver's helmet tight up against the cockpit door which has a cut out for the driver's helmet.

About 100 times better than anything I've seen from the ACO on youtube.

Quite impressed if I'm honest. Not sure it's something I'd show to a mate still but I wouldn't be embarrassed if I was caught watching them.

'98 and '99, the subsequent best grids I've ever seen at Le Mans since my first year in '96. The sheer beauty of these cars and the effort been put in next to all of them was just mesmerizing to watch. If only I could find a time travel machine to bring me back there...
