Censorship or just being plain rude...
I posted a note regarding Peter Brock's separation from his partner. Someone questioned its validity in this forum. Next time I looked it has disappeared, not simply moved, with no explanation to me as to why.
If a message is inappropriate, then it's common courtesy to advise the poster as to why. The chap who replied to mine asked if it should be in "Parc Ferme" as he questioned its relevance to Australian touring car racing. I thought that it was appropriate, otherwise I would not have posted it. It's related directly to the ATCC, and how his actions in the past shaped, to some degree, the future of the sport, particularly Holden's participation in the ATCC. I just find it annoying that someone can summarily dismiss a person's post without any reason being given. |

Agreed, mjt.
There is a distinct difference between relevance and innuendo and I think the Brock thing had relevance. he is, after all, a major player in Australian sedan racing and has been since about 1969. |

You know, one day someone is actually going to read the FAQ that I spent so much of my time putting together and I'll probably die of shock.
http://tentenths.com/forum/faq.php?f...rules_why_post Sadly, we have to remove or edit a fairly substantial quantity of posts every day. All our moderators are volunteers and none of us have time to to contact every single poster with an explanation or get into debates about it. Perhaps if you take the time to read the FAQ that has been put there for your benefit, you may avoid similar situations in the future. |

I would have also posted it, its Race News, just the same as when someone puts an obituary in this forum.
I guess some rules for some etc etc. |

I'm not getting into an argument about this - however, I will say:
An obituary is when people get together to share their sadness about the death of someone they had respect/admirations/feelings for. Divorces on the other hand are no business of anyone except the parties involved and I cannot understand why anyone would feel that public discussion of same is appropriate anywhere. I can understand why the announcement might be of interest and I'll discuss with the mods as to whether that is appropriate to have in the forum - but only as a closed thread. I'm also closing this thread. If anyone else would like to have a whinge, you'll just have to contact me by PM. |
