Classic Sports Car Club

What a great bunch of people!

A large gathering of drivers at Friday's test day, all gave their thanks to the Marshals whilst waiting to sign on.
There was friendly banter all day.

Saturday's race day - again some really great people, Bob W, the CofC and again more drivers.
The standards of driving were generally excellent and the co-operation/help from competitors whose luck (On the track)has run out was appreciated.

A great club event!

Indeed!

The only club I can think of where just about EVERY driver in EVERY race over the weekend at Anglesey waved their appreciation to EVERY marshal's post...

As well as all the goodies at sign on, AND a raffle to travel with the club to Daytona...

And the ones who stopped thanked us too. We even had one guy tell us how he ensures that new younger drivers also know why they should appreciate us too or else (and he was quite a big chap so I wouldn't have messed with him!)

Still don't know why that black Formula Ford stopped at our post (Corkscrew Out/Tom Pryce Straight) on the Saturday and signalled to Nadine - must have been an old boyfriend!

Ask Nadine yourself - she was as confused as me. At first we thought he was waving to us, but then he stopped, waved a bit more and carried on!?!?!

The black MR2 pulled off at Rocket In during the Future Classics race on Sunday. The driver looked asked us if we marshalled at Oulton Park, as he thought one or two faces were familiar. Turns out he was racing XR2s when the Morleys were at the height of their, er, how can I put this.....involvement, so he'd met a lot of Oulton marshals!

The winner of Sunday's Tin top race also slowed right down & shouted something to us - we couldn't make out what he was saying, but we assumed it was some sort of reference to his somewhat extended off-circuit excursion!

At least he was free to race - one of the Morley's is banged up in jail in Macedonia.

Unfortunately two pensioners were killed in a collision during the Gumball 3000 event, for those that aren't aware.
